Show Pulse Of The Public Editor, Stadard: Idaho's one man Chamber of Commerce, spends no time collecting col-lecting dues or keeping minutes, of meetings, is not hampered by a board of dicertors, has no long-winded discussions, puts on no dinner meetings to pep up members, has no rent bills and salaries; studies an idea intensely intense-ly and puts it to work. There is a half-truth that says, "Cast thy bread upon the waters and it will return after many days." The whole truth is. "Toss your bun into the river and it floats away all wet." But the live fishes bite it and it does 'em good. It is a change from river water seasoned sea-soned with sewage from burgs that can't afford sewage disposal dispos-al plants. Dry-land Fishes need buns of thought, and that is where this joint comes in. Idaho's One-Man Chamber of Commerce presents small hunks of ideas to 204 Intermountain newspapers, 52 radio stations and countless delegates to conventions con-ventions of thinkers. Some read it and drop it into one-way wastebaskets; some pass it on to their people; some give it a heading and write a thank-you note to the author for sending it free and postpaid. Sleepy old burgs with backhouses back-houses and typhoid can g'et water wa-ter systems and sewer systems with disposal plants, installed on the monthly rental plan. People from Los Angeles. Pittsburg and New York are looking for homey places where they can get balmy sunshine with cure air and space. We have them all, in surplus. Install the systems and they'll come-a-runnin,' with money. Byrd Treeo. Blackfoot. Idaho |
