Show - - SOCIETY Peggy Oldroyd, Society Reporter THOUGHT -AND THIMBLE Lights were gleaming on a beautifully decorated Christmas tree when members of Thought and Thimble club arrived at the home of Mrs. Olen Perryman, Monday evening, Jan. 2, for a delightful post-Christmas party. In a holiday atmosphere, the merrymaking centered around refreshments and games. Mrs. Perryman's guest list included in-cluded Mrs. Harold Dillman, Mrs. Ruth Butcher, Mrs. Joe Snyder, Mrs. Farrell Wilkins, Mrs. John Redmond, and Mrs, Art Allen. BIRTHDAY PARTY It was fun galore for a group of Roosevelt's younger set when they convened at the Howard Ivory residence, Tuesday afternoon, after-noon, January 2, to extend best wishes to Mary Ivory on her tenth birthday anniversary. An afternoon of games, followed fol-lowed by refreshments, was enjoyed en-joyed by Sherrie Dawn Gilbert, Michael Stewart, Kaye Chugg, Homer Cook, Noal Murphy, A. ' J. Christensen, Lyle Swain, Dora Campbell, Sonia Nelsqn, and Mary Ellen Blaine. BETOTHAL ANNOUNCED Creating widespread interest this week is the announcement of the engagement of Miss Max-ine Max-ine Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Gardner, of Ne-ola, Ne-ola, to Gordon Allred, son of Mrs. Helen Allred, of Salt Lake City. Miss Gardner, a graduate of Roosevelt high school, class of '47, and a former B.Y.U. student, stu-dent, is employed at the Utah Ice Storage co., Salt Lake City, Mr. Gardner is stationed with the Navy in Tennessee, A definite wedding date has not been set, JUST-A-MERE Midst a festive holiday setting, set-ting, members of Just-A-Mere club entertained their partners at a delightful party at the Frontier Grill, Friday evening, December 30. A delicious turkey dinner was the center of comment. Bridge formed the remainder of the evening's diversion for Mr. and Mrs. i'arrell Wilkins, Mrs. Reva Owen, Dick Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Killian, Mrs. Ted Jensen, Mrs. .Pearl Moysh, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Tom White, Mr. and Mrs. Verlen La-brum, La-brum, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed. La-brum, La-brum, NEW YEAR'S DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Eldredge entertained at a New Year's dinner din-ner at their home, Sunday, for Mr. and Mrs. Reed Wiscombe, Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Will Ot erhansley, Marilyn and Emmer-son Emmer-son Oberhansley, Neola; and Mrs. Mary Eldredge. Penney Co, store and their parenters at an annual holiday dinner Thursday evening, December De-cember 29, at the Roosevelt ward hall. Jordan, entertained a group of friends at dinner at her home Monday Mon-day afternoon. Her guests were Joanne Walton, Wal-ton, Yvonne Fretwell, Glenda Rudy, and Lela Hacking-. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Announcement is made this week of the engagement and forthcoming marriagfe of Miss Donna Whiting, of Burley, Idaho, Ida-ho, to Jimmy Bacon, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bacon, of Roosevelt. Mr. Bacon, a graduate of Roosevelt high school, spent three years in the Marine Corpc during World War II. At present he is employed by Safeway Safe-way Stores, Inc., at Burley. FAMILY REUNION BALLARD Mr. and Mrs. Russel Todd, Keith and Jo Ann; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bracken and Lynn; and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Bracken and baby, of Roosevelt, attended a reunion of the Todd family, held Dec. 31 at the Mont S. Poulson home in Duchesne. Du-chesne. Approximately fifty decend-ants decend-ants of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Todd, early Ballard pioneers, were assembled from Heber Myton, Arcadia, Ballard and Roosevelt. |
