Show Ellen Bracken Ward Plans To Improve Farm Vaughn Simper, Jesse Hul-linger, Hul-linger, Max Todd, Glen El-dredge, El-dredge, S. A. Brighton, Alden White, Ernest Betts, Fred Cook, Angus Anderson, Boyd Winn, and Charles Hewitt were among the men who went to the mountains moun-tains Friday with Bishop Golden Gol-den Collins and his counselors, Wendel Johnson and Bernard Larsen, to get out materia! with which to make some improvements im-provements at the Church Farm. Squire Mangum and Snellen Johnson were speakers at Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting Sunday evening. Lynn White, Allen Gines, Norman Nor-man Angus and Larry Larsen sang a quartet number. Mrs. Lelia Anderton, of Whiterocks, sang a solo. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cook, who were married recently, have moved to Ballard to make their home at the Cook farm. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Holmes and two daughters, from Washington Wash-ington state, were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham. The Holmes family used to reside at Ft. Duchesne. Du-chesne. Ensyne Clark motored to Salt Lake City last weekend to visit vis-it with his parents, Mr, and Mrs. L. E. Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brighton Brigh-ton returned home Saturday after af-ter enjoying a week's vacation that took them to Yellowstone National Park. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger announce the arrival of a baby girl born July 21 at the Roosevelt Roose-velt Hospital. This is the Hul-lingers' Hul-lingers' eighth daughter. They have one son. Mrs. Robert Marshall and three children made a trip last week to visit friends and relatives rel-atives in Salt Lake City. Mr. ana Mrs. lierhara btolla accompanied by Robert and Clara Stolla, made a business trip to Gunnison last week. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Meacham and their four children, who have been visiting with Mrs. Meacham's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hatch, since their return from Japan, have gone to Massachusetts, where Mr. Meacham Mea-cham will be stationed. Max and Howard Todd, returned re-turned L D S missionaries, were speakers at the Glines Ward in the Uintah Stake Sunday evening, eve-ning, July 20. They were ac-Icompanied ac-Icompanied by their mother, Mrs. Russel Todd, and their sister Joanne. Jo-anne. Mr. and Mrs. Geo'. Bracken has received the announcement of the marriage of Glen V. Rice, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. T. Ric.?, of Bountiful, to Miss Donna Jane Glidewell, at Winslow, Arizona, Ari-zona, on July 15. The Rice family fam-ily lived at Alterra for a number num-ber of years. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham, Bing-ham, Mr. and Mrs E. C. Coston, Mrs. Reuben Sixkiller, Mrs. Earl Gardner, Mrs. Effie Winn and Mrs. Geo. Bracken attended funeral fun-eral services for Tony Garcia at the Catholic Church in Roosevelt Roose-velt Tuesday. July 22. POT-LUCK LUNCH PLANNED BY WARD RELIEF SOCIETY On Tuesday, August 5, Relief Society members will convene for an .11-day session, commencing com-mencing at 10 a. m. All who come are asked to bring something some-thing for a pot-luck lunch, and all women of the ward are invited in-vited to attend. Mrs. Olen Perryman and family, fam-ily, of Texas, have come to attend at-tend the Baptist Encampment at Little Park in Uinta Canyon in session this week. The Perry-mans Perry-mans lived in Ballard before moving' to Texas about a year ago. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kerr are the parents of a baby girl born at the Roosevelt Hospital on July 20. Mrs. Ole Rasmussen and her four youngest children attended the Timothy family reun.on near Provo last week. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Manwar-ing, Manwar-ing, of Salt Lake City, called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Le-land Angus last Saturday. They and their three married daughters daugh-ters had attended the Goodrich family reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Ercil Johnson and family have moved into their new home on their farm north of Alterra. Squire Mangum made a trip to Provo last week and brought back a truck load of apricots for people in the ward. HOME FROM HOSPITAL DeLoy Squire, who was accidentia ac-cidentia shot several weeks ago, was brought home from a Salt Lake hospital on Sunday. I Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Drury and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Lublin, of Salt Lake City, have been visitors at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Betts and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Betts. Mr. and Mrs. David Lund-berg Lund-berg and family returned Saturday Sat-urday evening from an extended trip. They visited in Reno, Nev., then went to San Francisco and Oakland, California, and returned return-ed to spend July 24 at Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Turner returned Saturday from Salt Lake City, where Mr. Turner had been in a hospital for a month while receiving medical treatment. I Keith Todd and Bryce White motored to Salt Lake City to spend July 24. They witnessed the big parade while there. Registration day will be on August 5. Anyone wishing to register to vote in the primary election in September may contact con-tact Mrs. Elton Kettle at her home south of the Ballard School. Mrs. Angus Anderson entertained enter-tained Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson An-derson and Mrs. Olds at dinner on Sunday, the occasion being to celebrate the birthday anniversaries an-niversaries of Mr. Anderson and LeRoy. Miss Renee Wilkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marc Wilkins, of Los Angeles, was a caller at the Charles Bingham home the other day. She is Mr. Bingham's granddaughter. Mrs. Russel Todd accompanied accompan-ied her daughter, Mrs. Wendel Johnson, and family to Salt Lake City last Friday, where they spent several days. Mrs. Todd's daughter and son-in-liw, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Mohlman and family, are living in Salt Lake this summer. Mrs. LaRue Pickup, of Rand-lett, Rand-lett, spent a day last week a: the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Coston. MARRIAGE TOLD Announcement is made this week of the marriage of Miss Vernia Osier, of Springville. to Max Locke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Locke, of Independence. They were married at Drager-ton Drager-ton June 22. A wedding reception recep-tion was held for them in Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Giles Ortscheid have sold their home in Alterra to Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Denver, of Ft. Duchesne. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peck and family, of Salt Lake City were weekend visitors in Ballard.
