Show State Of Utah Gets First loyalty From Oil The first oil royalty paid to the State of Utah covers oil production on 20. acres of state-owned state-owned land at ' the California Company's Red Wash unit in the Uintah Basin. The $451.89 check given to P: H. Mulcahy, chairman chair-man of the State Land Board, is the first royalty check in tho state's history. This oil royalty check, paid; during mid-July, represents aj 12V2 royalty on gross produc-! tion at the Well. This royalty percentage was set by. the Land Board in accordance with the 1951 law governing oil royalties on state lands. The -money will po into' the state's general school fund as provided by law.
