Show High School Play Well Received; Talent Displayed An exceptionally outstanding performance was presented by a group of high school students Wednesday night, when the riotous ri-otous three-act comedy, "Summer "Sum-mer Rash," was staged as the annual Roosevelt high school play. A large and responding audience saw the cast, which was extremely well chosen, portray por-tray their character parts amazingly amaz-ingly well. Action and stage settings set-tings couldn't have been better, with much praise and commendation commen-dation to be accredited to the drama director, Mrs. Norman Murphy. The comedy play centered around a group of high school students, who carried their school study of dramatics into the summer when granted the use of a friend's barn for the activity. ac-tivity. The two leads, Ronald Zir-ker, Zir-ker, who took the part of Kenneth Ken-neth Fowler, as production manager, man-ager, and Darlene Brown, dor ing a dual role of stage pest and movie actress, were both well chosen for their parts and gave magnificent performances. The leads were very capably supported by the following cast: Ruthie, Dorothy Dean Nixon; Nix-on; Carol, Carolyn Whiting; Hamlet, Joe Reidhead; Danny, Eldon Winterton; Mrs. Fowler, Mary Murphy; Mrs. Hughes, Maxine Hurley; Miss Brighton, Renee Eldredge; and Frank, Tom Rowley. Student director and announcer was Joyce Burr and business manager, Val Timothy. Tim-othy. Mrs. Murphy stated that the play will be staged at Altamont sometime next week. |
