Show F.H.A. In Charge .... Girls' Day At Junior High To Feature Varied Exhibits Under the supervision of Mrs.'! Helen Buxton, F.H.A. leader, many plans are nearing completion comple-tion for Girls' Day, which will be held tomorrow, Friday, at the Roosevelt Junior High School. Mothers of all girls are invited to accompany their daughters to' school that day. Many fine exhibits of students' stu-dents' work will be displayed in the various rooms as added features for the ,day, which is being highlighted by several outstanding events. An operetta, "Lady Frances," will be presented to all student body members and mothers during dur-ing the forenoon, under the direction di-rection of Mrs. Vola Hancock, with the ninth grade chorus class as participants. Main characters include: Bertie Lis-onbee, Lis-onbee, Laura Lee Lerdahl, Lorraine Lor-raine Rawlings, Marva Hor-rocks,, Hor-rocks,, Leota Pitt, LuJean Jennings, Jen-nings, Rosalie Brown, Marie Enders, Geniel Shelton, Yvonne Whitehead and Evelyn Harris. Accompanists are Maurine Yack and Rosalie Green; stage manager, man-ager, Karen Nelson; and prompter, promp-ter, Norma Murphy. Dances are directed by Mrs. Wanda Riggle. Durjng' the lunch hour the mothers will be guests of the girls at a special luncheon, served in the school lunch room. Commencing the afternoon activity ac-tivity at one o'clock the Home Economics Department and the FHA Club, under the direction of Mrs. Buxton, will present "Styles from Stitches," an accomplishment ac-complishment parade of the girls' sewing. Films on home-making home-making will also be shown to round out a pleasant afternoon. Through the efforts of the art instructor, Mrs. Riggle, an outstanding art exhibit has been brought in from other states and the USAC, and will be on display all day and also Friday evening from 7:3b to 10:00. The public is invited to attend and view the exhibits. i Climaxing the day will be a Girls' Day dance, with the theme. "A Garden in the Rain," and the decorations will be various var-ious hues of blue. Boys will be guests of the girls. Music will be furnished by Smith's or-chesrta. or-chesrta. A fine program of sports has been arranged for. the boys by the physical education department. depart-ment. Fathers are' welcome to attend any, or all of the boys' j events. |
