There seems to be a heavy supply sup-ply now on the market, and consequently the price is somewhat some-what lower. Cheese is one of the dairy products that is now in unusually heavy supply on the markets. Use. cheese as an item to build your main dish around, or user it in a variety of other menu items from hot appetizers to go with soup, for example, to sandwiches, cooked vegetable dishes, salads and even ev-en desserts, such as cheese cake, apple pie with cheese, or cheese crackers and fruit jelly. When you're cooking with cheese, cook at a low temperature. tempera-ture. That way the cheese will melt completely and the flavor will spread evenly through the dish. To speed melting and blending the cheese, cut it in small pieces before heating. Whenever possible, mix cheese in the sauce before you add the other ingredients. Keep an eye on your corral if you are going to produce top quality milk. Spring rains and warm weather make a corral a top notch breeding place for disease germs and flies. A grading grad-ing job that provides good drainage drain-age will do a lot to eliminate sloppy mud holes. Channels that dain waste into an approved ditch or canal that will carry it out of range of your barn and milk house. If you are producing produc-ing Grade A milk, health regulations reg-ulations require that you clean the manure out of your corral often. A good concrete apron around the water trough and feed mangers will prevent muddy mud-dy spots and make cleaning easier. Here is some information just received on dairy heifers: H. P. Two month old calves are $65.00 and $75.00 Six week old calves are $60.00 and $70.00 These are mainly Holstein. However, How-ever, some Brown Swiss calves can be supplied at the same prices. Robert H. Walker, of Lannon, Wisconsin, can supply 2-3 month old calves for $75.00; 6-8 week old calves for $50.00; 2-4 week , old calves for $40.00. Registered calves 3 weeks to 3 months old $135.00. All above prices are f.o.b. Wisconsin; rate of delivery charge $3.60 per calf per 1000 miles in lots of ten or more.
