Show Notice Of Oil & Gas Mining Lease Sale UNDER SEALED BID - 2:00 P.M.. APRIL 28, 1953 Sealed bids will be received at the Uintah and Ouray Agency, Fort Duchesne, Utah, until 2:00 p.m., April 28, 1953, for Oil and Gas mining leases on the following described tribally owned Indian lands, located on the Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation, in Duchesne County, State of Utah, all of which lands as hereafter described are within the Uintah Special Base and Meridian Survey Sur-vey and contain 1,120 acres more or less, to wit: Township 3 South, Range 5 West Unit No. Description Sec. The successful and responsible bidders for any lease will be required to pay in advance ad-vance an annual rental of $1.25 per acre, the cost of advertising and a filing fee of $5.00 Jot each lease contract consumated. In addition to the filing fee ol $5.00 for each lease, an additional addi-tional fee of I5c per acre will be charged as a processing, cost of making the lease and clerical service attendant thereto. . Successful Suc-cessful bidders will be required to deposit such fees in proportion propor-tion to the acreages obtained on their bids and before leases are drawn. A deposit of 20 per cent of the bonus bid and 20 per cent of the advance rental for the first year must accompany the bid and be in the form of a certified cer-tified check or bank draft drawn on a solvent bank, payable to the Treasurer of the United States. I Conditional or alternate bids will not be accepted and no drilling propositions will be considered con-sidered as a part of the bonus offer.:. . - The sale will be conducted under regulations promulgated by the Secretary of the Interior, 25 CFR 186, Act of May 11, 1938 (52 Stat. 347, 25 U.S.C. 396 a-j). Lease Form 5-157 will be used. : : Bids received will be referred to the. Uintah and Ouray Tribal Business , Committee for their recommendation as" to- acceptance accep-tance or rejection before such bids are referred to the Com missioner of Indian Affairs for j final action. The right is reserved, re-served, by the Commissioner to I reject any or all bids and to disapprove dis-approve any lease made on an accepted bid. Should any bid be rejected after a deposit is made, through no -fault of the bidder, all moneys deposited shall be returned. Failure of the successful bidder bid-der to comply with the terms of the sale and regulations, will render his deposit liable to forfeiture for-feiture in the discretion of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs. Leases filed after 20 days from date of mailing to lessee for execution ex-ecution will be subject to revaluation re-valuation of bonus, and sales may be cancelled and deposits : forfeited unless for good and sufficient reason an extension , of the filing period is granted, j The superintendent reserves the I right, as a condition precedent to the granting of an extended period of time, to require the deposit of any remaining sums due and owing on the. lease, -including the balance of the bonus bid and the first year's rental. The lessee must 'furnish a satisfactory sat-isfactory surety bond as required re-quired by the regulations.
