Show Death Ends Active Sojourn Of Peter Anderson Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Tuesday at 1 .m. in the Roosevelt LDS stake chapel for Peter Anderson, 80, who died at his home here Sunday at 2 p.m. following a lingering illness. ill-ness. Bishop R. V. Larson, of the "Roosevelt ward, conducted the services. Speakers who paid tribute to the exemplary life of Peter Anderson An-derson were Thomas R. Todd, Leland Angus, Hollis G. Hullin-ger, Hullin-ger, president of the Roosevelt stake, and Bishop Larson. The following musical program was presented: Two numbers by a mixed quartet composed of Donna Rae Tietjen, Gertrude Moysh, Ned Gines and Bennie Schmiett, accompanied by Mrs. Schmiett, who sang "Oh, My Father," and "Secret Prayer;" a vocal solo, by Marion Harrison, Harri-son, "One Fleeting Hour," accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Veola Harrison; Harri-son; prelude and postlude music was furnished by Mrs. Ella Wat-kins Wat-kins on the organ. Prayer at the home was offered by George Strebel, with LeRoy Goodrich giving the invocation; Heber T. Hall the benediction and Theron Leavitt dedicating the grave. He was born Sept. 3, 1872, in Kogered, Malmohus, Lan Sweden, son of Anders and Anna An-na Anderson. He married Alma Lofstrom in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jan. 16, 1901. He came to Salt Lake City from Sweden in 1899, and moved to Uintah Basin at its opening for settlement in 1906. He settled in Roosevelt and had resided here since. He served a mission in Mal-mo, Mal-mo, Sweden, in 1923-25. He was skilled as a carpenter carpen-ter and cabinet maker. He was an active member of the church and was a high priest at time of his death. Surviving are his widow and following sons and daughters: Albin E. Anderson, Vernal; Mrs. C. E. (Anna) Peterson, Grants-ville; Grants-ville; Axel H. Anderson, Roosevelt; Roose-velt; Oscar J. Anderson, En-cino, En-cino, Calif.; Frank P. Anderson, Ventura, Calif.; 14 grandchildren grandchil-dren and four great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Roosevelt cemetery under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary of Roosevelt. |
