Show Snow Below 1951 Measurement On Lake Fork Mount. Snow measurements made on the Lake Fork Mountain snow course showed that on March 30, 1953 there were 35.4 inches of snow with a water content of 9.3 inches. In 1952, for the April 1st period, the measurements measure-ments were 71.7 inches of snow with a water content of 21.7 inches. In 1951, for the same period the depth of snow was 38.6 inches and the water content con-tent was 10.6 inches. The twenty-three year average aver-age for the April 1st period on the Lake Fork Mountain snow course is 42.6 inches of snow depth with a water content of 10.7 inches. Gregory Pearson and Gilbert Horrocks, of the Soil Conservation Conserva-tion Service, and Ranger Jesse Palm, of the Forest Service, made the 1953 measurements. |
