Mower Kay Hamblin Honored At Farewell Party The farewell party wase well attended at-tended that was given in honorf of Kay Hamblin, who entered the Mission Home on Wednesday, Aug. 24. Kay's field of labor will be the Great Lakes Mission district. Hs is the son of Mr; and Mrs. Marley Hamblen; a graduate of Union Un-ion High School, class of '53 and attended the USAC the past' two years. Refreshments were served and a program conducted by Douglas Doug-las Brown was as follows: Songs, by Hazel Hunt; duet, Ira Anderton and Ted Nelson; jokes, Douglas Brown and James E. Hamblin; a reading by Ray Brown; a skit, Rosalie and Ronald Brown; several' musical numbers, by Jakes' Hill-Billy Hill-Billy band of Roosevelt; and a talk by Kay. They also held a small auction on cakes, melons and what-have-you, to raise money mon-ey to help Kay get started on his mission. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Powell, of Provo, and Sandra Powell, of Salt Lake City, were visitors at the James L. Powell home over the weekend. , Henry and Bruce Litster, of Bountiful, and Enid Brown, of Salt Lake City, were weekend visitors vis-itors at the Art Brown home. Bettie Mower, of Salt Lake City, visited at home over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hullinger are enjoying a visit with their son, Ar-vin, Ar-vin, this week. Arvin has been employed in Logan during the past summer. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Brown and small' son, of Salt Lake City, are visiting at the Max Nelson and the Art Brown homes over the weekend.' week-end.' - . Mr. and Mrs. Myron Haslem, of Preston, Idaho, were visiting at the James Ej Hamblin "home. Mr. and Mrs. Glade Calder and daughter Pamela, have returned to Texas after spending Glade's furlough visiting with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Roberts have moved to Pleasant Grove. Mr. and Mrs. GLenn Johnson have gone to Anaconda, Mont, to make their home, where Glenn is employed. Carol Brown, returned this week from Logan, where she has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown. He may have to have a second operation while out there. A meeting was held during the week to get things in shape for the Montwel annual Rodeo on Labor Day. Everyone is invited to come and have a good time. |
