Show Junior Gleaners Have Special Night The Junior Gleaners, under the supervision of their leader, Merle Ross, invited the entire MIA to participate with them in their special spe-cial night, A Treasure Quest. After having preliminary exercises exer-cises at the church house, they all. proceeded to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Horrocks and had a party in honor of their son Evan, who is afflicted with muscular mus-cular deptrophy. Games, songs, and refreshments were enjoyed by the group. The guest of honor was presented with a book. It will be an evening well remembered re-membered by all, knowing the joy and satisfaction that can be gained through a little compassionate compas-sionate service. The happiness of Keith and Sherry, Sher-ry, children of Mr. and Mrs. Chad Evans, has radiated throughout the ward, due to the long-looked for arrival home of their tiny brother, from the hospital. The little "guy" is doing just fine now. Those attending the Duchesne County DUP convention in Myton, Saturday, from the Red-Ante-View Camp were, Captain Ora Holgate, Grace Larsen, Ida Horrocks, Ar-Iene Ar-Iene Gilbert, Ethel Taylor and Hazel Walters. Ida Horrocks was elected county registrar. We are happy to have Naomi Gilbert home again. Naomi graduated grad-uated from the Brigham Young University last spring and has been taking some additional work at summer school. She is going to teach in Duchesne this year. Her work in art and music has bean very outstanding. She is a daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Gilbert. Deon, Delaine and Mildred Bird and Lorraine Allred, of Roosevelt, attended Sacrament meeting Sunday Sun-day night. Mr. and Mrs., Stanley Ross and R. G. went to Richfield, Thursday, to visit Mrs. Margaret Higgins, mother of Mrs. Ross. From there they went on to Southern Utah, visiting friends and enjoying some of the scenic beauty of Zions and Bryce Canyons. They returned home Sunday. Mrs. Boyd Freston and son, Lyle have been visiting her mother, Mrs. Arch Larsen, while Boyd and Arch have been on the mountain, moun-tain, taking care of their cattle. Mr. and Mrs. Gwen Bodily and son, Merrill, of Salt Lake City, were weekend guests at the home of Mrs. Merle Ross. Mr, and Mrs. E. Floyd Ross and family and Mrs. Minnie Diehl', of Roosevelt, joined in the family visiting Sunday. Sun-day. Ardon Evans and sons, Hugh, Fred, Laird, Baird and Wilford, have returned from a very enjoyable enjoy-able fishing trip. |
