Show Two Wvtkl Rodeos Is Mi Stake Building Frogroni t A Roosevelt LDS stake spon- sored rodeo is all set to entertain the people of the Uintah Basin Friday and Saturday nights, Aug. 26 and 27. Assisting in the sponsoring spon-soring of the big show is the Roosevelt Riding Club, which will direct the two-night program at the arena. For the past two weeks, committees com-mittees have been planning the big affair, and reports coming from those in charge indicate a well-balanced well-balanced show is in the offing. A grand entry parade at the arena south of Roosevelt. City, will start the show each night. Each of the thirteen wards in the stake is entering en-tering a Queen and two attendants, who, along with the bishoprics, will ride in the grand parade. Also to pass in review will' be three riding clubs, Neola, Vernal and Roosevelt, plus all contestants and stake officials. Generous Purses A $50.00 purse, plus, entrance fees, will be the prize each night in the saddle bronc riding, with $25.00 being offered for bareback riding and bulldogging. Bull' riding will also pull a $25.00 purse, while calf and team roping will be done on a jack-pot basis.. A number of special acts and entertainment ideas are being worked up to add spice to the show, including a clown and riding club drills. Hollis G. Hullinger, stake president, presi-dent, is general chairman of the committee and Cecil "Doc" Jenkins is president of the Roosevelt Riding Rid-ing Club. Advance family tickets are being sold for $5-00 for both nights. Those buying family tickets tick-ets will get credit on their ward building fund. |
