Show BARBARA JEAN MILES Funeral services for Barbara Jean Miles, 5-month-old daughter daugh-ter of Irvin and Corrine Larsen Miles, were held last Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the Roosevelt LDS stake house, with Bishop R. V. Larson in charge. The baby ! died suddenly' Thursday, Feb. ! 18, at 8 a.m. She was born Sept. 30, 1953 in Roosevelt and besides her parents is survived by two brothers, Lynn and Vick; three grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Larsen and Mrs. Ellen Miles, all of Roosevelt. Speakers for the funeral services ser-vices included Bishop Larson and Victor Wilkins. Vocal solos j were sung by Ray Johnstun and ' Helen Rudy Merkley. accompanied accom-panied by Miss Marilyn Anderson. Ander-son. Girls who carried the flowers were Velma and Lois Fenn, Kay and Pat Larsen and-Hayda and-Hayda McKinlay. Burial was in the Roosevelt Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Mortuary. SARAH A. H. JACOBS Funeral services were held today, Thursday, at 1 p.m. for Mrs. Sarah Ann Holt Jacobs. 89. who died in the Roosevelt LDS Hospital after a brief illness. ill-ness. Bishop R. Vernon Larson, of the Roosevelt ward, conducted conduct-ed the services which were held in the' Roosevelt stake chapel. A resident of the Uintah Basin Ba-sin since May, 1916, Mrs. Jacobs was born May 5, 1864 in Washington, Wash-ington, Utah, a daughter of William Wil-liam A. and Sarah Wardle Holt. She was married to John C. Jacobs, July 4, 1889. Their marriage mar-riage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her husband died Dec. 22, 1928. An active church worker all her life. Mrs. Jacobs had been an officer in the Relief Society and primary organizations in the Roosevelt ward. She had been confined to the Roosevelt Hospital about three weeks prior to her death. The following sons and daughters survive: John, Roosevelt; Roose-velt; Reuben J., Salt Lake and A. M. Jacobs, Prove; Mrs. Jane Tanner, Portland, Ore.; and Mrs. Clem Christensen, Ingle-wood, Ingle-wood, Calif. Two brothers, Aaron Aar-on Holt, Orem and Enoch Holt, Springville; 29 grandchildren, 30 great - grand - children, 13 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Burial was in the Roosevelt Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Mortuary of Roosevelt. |
