Show Mrs. Ellen Bracken Ballard Youth Do Baptismal Work The Ballard bishopric, Golden Gol-den Collins, Wendel Johnson and Orlan Cook, took a group of young people to Salt Lake City, Friday afternoon to participate par-ticipate in doing some baptismal work in the L.D.S. Temple there. Roene and Josephine As-i As-i ay, Deanne Asay, Carolyn Ross, Patsy Gines, Afton Mangus, Joan Angus, Donnie Kettle, De-Loy De-Loy Squire, Kenneth Squire, Reed Rasmussen and Allen Collins Col-lins were among those who made the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reyos made a business trip to' Albuquerque, Albu-querque, New Mexico . last week. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parrish and family made a trip to Salt Lake City, Sunday, Feb. 14, returning return-ing on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Todd and Miss Joanne Todd spent the weekend at home from the U.S.A.C. at Logan. I Mrs. Marie Benson, of Ioka, a member of the Roosevelt stake Sunday School board, visited vis-ited the Junior Sunday School, Sunday morning. Mrs. Charles Bingham spent Friday at the home of her Bister, Bis-ter, Mrs. Frank . McMullin, at Randlett. She visited with her brothers, Loren and Bert Harris, Har-ris, also. Jay Gates, who is witli the armed forces and stationed at Fort Ord, Calif., spent the past 10 days with friends in Ballard. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Long and family have moved into the Ballard ward, across the road from the Jerry Hatchs'. Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Buchanan Buchan-an and two children, of Logan, and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Crouch and two children, of Roy, spent the weekend at the home of the ladies' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alden White. MINOR OPERATION Mrs. David Lundberg took her son, David, to Salt Lake City to have an operation. He had an embedded tooth removed. re-moved. The trouble had started from an accident he was in ten years before. He was under medical care for a week in Salt Lake after the operation. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Holling-worth, Holling-worth, from Flagstaff, Ariz., and Mrs. Jennie Brock tvere visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Squire Mangum last weekend. week-end. Mrs. Brock will pay an indefinite in-definite visit. Mr. and Mrs. Angus Anderson went to Rangely, Colo., to attend at-tend the funeral of a 'relative. They were accompanied by their son, LeRoy, of Myton, who was to sing'' at the funeral. Mrs. Spencer Squire presented present-ed the Literature lesson at Relief Re-lief Society on Tuesday, Feb. 16, assisted by Mrs. Vionne Parrish. Par-rish. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle and two of their children made a business trip to Vernal on Friday. WoTd has been received from lone, Calif, that Mrs. Lynn Campbell had undergone two major operations in the Jackson Hospital. Mrs. Campbell will be remembered by some of her Ballard friends as the former Merle Bracken. James Lewis and Merlin Sullivan, Sul-livan, of Roosevelt, were speakers speak-ers in Sacrament meeting Sunday Sun-day evening, Feb. 14th. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rasmus-sen, Rasmus-sen, who have been living at Salt Lake City, have moved back to Roosevelt. Erie Hatch and son, Brent, left last week on a trip to Chicago, Chi-cago, where he will purchase a new car and drive home. Earl Gardner spent several days in Salt Lake City last week on business. His small son, Johnny, accompanied him on the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Tippetts and family have moved into the home that the Oliver Bowden family had been living in. Jesse Winn, of Richfield, has been visiting at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Winn. Mrs. Annie Anderson, mother of Mrs. Ralph McMullin, and the following sisters from the mountain Home county, Mrs. Thelma Lindsay, Mrs. Eva Thompson, Mrs. Ilean Rust and Mrs. Ida Walters, spent one day last week with Mrs. McMullin to assist her in making a quilt. Mrs. Xavier Bellon is caring for the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Bellon, while they are on a trip to California. Mrs. Charles Bingham worked in the Alterra school kitchen on Monday, in place of Mrs. Bracken. "Buzz" Larsen has moved a log house down on his property on the highway and he expects to remodel it for a service station. sta-tion. Mrs. Evelyn Brighton will present the Theology lesson on March 2nd and Mrs. Lora Asay the Teachers' topic lesson. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cook went to Vernal on Saturday, where Mrs. Cook received a medical check-up. Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken, Mrs. Elton Kettle and Diane Bracken motored to Salt Lake City to attend the funeral service ser-vice of O. J. Bracken, a brother of George Bracken. They visited visit-ed also at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Bracken and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pool. Mrs. Leland Angus spent several sev-eral days in Salt Lake City last week. She attended the Temple Excursion on Monday and Tuesday. Tues-day. David Lundberg, who is employed em-ployed at New Castle, Wyo., came to Salt Lake City last week to be with his wife while their son was receiving medical care. He has returned to his job. Miss Joan Angus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Angus, is at this writing in the Roosevelt Roose-velt Hospital receiving medical : care. Miss Norma Jean Kochever, of Grass Valley, Calif., spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gardner. Miss j Kochever is a senior student at the B.Y.U. and came in with : Gary Gardner to visit her rela- ! tives. |
