With Leon Ross and Gordon Eldredge, members mem-bers of the Union state champs of '56, along with Dick Owen of BYU fame a few years ago, Bump's Western came through the three nights with convincing wins over Ft. Washakie, Fort Duchesne Huskies Hus-kies (defending champs), and the Chiefs to win the trophy that was presented to Elmer Eldredge, sponsor spon-sor and manager, by Jason Cuch, chairman of the Ute Tribe Business Busi-ness committee. An LDS Indian team from Bannock Ban-nock Creek, Idaho, which represented repre-sented the Bannock Branch on the Fort Hall Reservation, won the sportsmanship award, which was presented by Junior Cuch, member mem-ber of the Tribal recreation committee. com-mittee. Another Champ Hailed The Fort Duchesne Kids' team became the first Uintah Basin champs in the Junior Basketball league', when they won a 25-20 contest earlier Saturday evening from Vernal No. 1 team. Orson Stevens, president of the Roosevelt Kiwanis Club, co-sponsors with the Ute Tribe' of the kids' league, presented the trophy ,to the kids from the Fort. Homey Secakuku, the assistant recreation director, awarded the runners-up with their trophy. Two all-star teams were announced an-nounced andwere given citations for their achievements. An outstanding out-standing player award went to Hugh Friday, 18-year-old Wyoming Wyom-ing high school all-stater three years, who played with the Ft. Washakie team.
