Show Game Board Post Goes To Jack Turner Of Vernal Governor J. Bracken Lee has announced an-nounced the appointment of Jack C. Turner of Vernal to the Utah Fish and Game Commission. Turner was named to fill the unexpired term of the ,Iate J. Allen Al-len Browne of Price. The term ends March 1, 1957. The new commissioner brings to the commission a wealth of experience ex-perience following a life-long interest in-terest in fish and game matters. He has been closely associated with the activities of organized sportsman groups in the Uintah Basin area since' moving to Vernal from Durango, Colo, twelve years ago. Turner now operates the Basin Loan and Finance Company in Vernal. A flying enthusiast, he formerly for-merly operated the Vernal airport. His flying activities have included in-cluded aerial survey work cover-i cover-i ing game and fishery projects. He has long been an advocate of stocking the Uinta Mountain and other high-off-the-road waters by plane. Turner, 54 years of age, is married mar-ried and has one son. As commissioner from District Two of the State's five fish and game districts, he represents Carbon, Car-bon, Daggett, Duchesne, Emery, Grand, San Juan', Uintah and Wasatch Was-atch counties. Other members of the five man commission are Chairman Golden G. Sanderson of Fairview, K. E. Bullock of Provo, Robert B. Mitchell Mitch-ell of Parowan, and W. Rulon White of Ogden. This body sets the policy under which the department de-partment of fish and games oper-i oper-i ates. The' new commissioner will attend at-tend his first meetings April 13-14 13-14 as the annual spring quarterly session is held. |
