Show ieetcn-Sennett Mrs. Fern Houslon New Bishop Is Sustained; Otis Horrocks Retired Sunday, March 6, Otis Horrocks Hor-rocks was released from the office of Bishop of Bennett Ward, a position he had held for 10Vi years. In that time of faithful service he has helped build the Ward's church we might call it the Ward's home. It has not been easy, as there are so few members who are really active, and the burdens bur-dens have been carried by a small majority of the members. We all appreciate what a fine leader he has been and will yet be, even though in another capacity. ca-pacity. John H. Haslem will be the new bishop, with P. E. Russoh and Clair Haslem as counselors. The Ward is not fully organized organ-ized as yet. There will be no Relief Society So-ciety meetings unitl the Ward is fully organized and further notice is given. Shirley Louise Bolton, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine Lor-raine Bolton, fias been a pa tient at tne Kooseven nospitai for 10 days, suffering with meningitis. men-ingitis. She is at home now and improving slowly. On Wednesday Mrs. Otis Horrocks Hor-rocks visited her sister-in-law, Mrs. Richard Adams and niece, Mrs. Bonnie Snyder. Mrs. Snyder Sny-der is joining her husband at San Diego for a 6-week's visit. He is stationed there with the Navy. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Miller, of Springville, spent Sunday at the home of Winfred Long. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Russon , were in Salt Lake last week on business. On their way home they visited their daughters at Pleasant Grove, Mrs. George Russon, Mrs. Ollie Hanson. Mrs. Orville Bowden. and families. Douglas Phillips was horn'? enjoying the spring vacation given U. of U. students. Mrs. Jack Cook, of Ballard visited Saturday at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Winfred Long. Mrs. Clair Haslem is in a fair condition after having had an operation at the LDS Hospital Hos-pital for gall stones. |
