Show State Apportions Lease 'Royalties To Counties; Budiesne Gets 84,884; Uintah Coisnty S&en Largest Sliso Duchesne County this wef-k received $4,894.00 as its portion por-tion of the $62,601.61 federal lease royalties distributed by the State Finance Commission. Last year, Duchesne County's fees from this source amounted to only $1,250.86. This total royalty fund represents repre-sents 10 of the bonuses, royalties roy-alties and rentals returned to the state on mineral leases to' the federal government. P. H. Mulcahy, chairman of the State Finance Commission, said ,the law requires that counties coun-ties receive one-tenth of the federal lease royalties originating originat-ing within their boundaries. The federal government returned re-turned a total of $626,016.12 to the state, and after county deductions, de-ductions, which are to go for road building purposes, the state retains $563,414.51, all of which goes into the minimum school fund. Largest amount to be received re-ceived by a county- was $15,-218.00 $15,-218.00 for Uintah County, largely large-ly because of its oil developments, develop-ments, the chairman said. Next largest portion of the fund went to San Juan County, $8,814.00. Other sizeable quantities quanti-ties were received by Emery Countv, $7,847.00; Grand County, Coun-ty, $6,383.00; Carbon Countv, $5,556.00; Millard Countv, $3,075.00; Wasatch County, $1,783.00; Tooele County, $1.-606.00; $1.-606.00; Garfield County. $1,438 Only six Utah counties did not share in the distribution of the royalty fund. They are Morgan, Piute, Salt Lake, Weber, Cache and Davis. |
