Show Limits Placed On Airmail To I Overseas Forces Due to the great volume of air mail now being generated for delivery to members of the armed forces and civilian government gov-ernment employees served through Military Post Offices overseas and on naval vessels, available aircraft space is being be-ing exceeded. Accordingly, upon up-on recommendation of the Department De-partment of Defense, the Post Office Department has placed the following limitations on air parcel post, effective March 15, 1952: Air parcel post addressed to APO numbers in care of post-1 masters at New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and New Orleans; Or-leans; and to FPO numbers in care of the Fleet Post Offices at New York and San Francisco cannot exceed 2 lbs. and must not be more than 30 inches in length and girth combined. These limitations apply only to airmail. |
