Show Honored Seniors The Mt. Emmons Variety club held their annual Tea for seniors sen-iors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jewell Kolb on May 17. There were about 60 guests served. The receiving line consisted con-sisted of Wm. R. Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. N. Brotherson, and Mrs. Jewell Kolb. Musical selections were presented during dur-ing the affair, which took place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Carl Young was out for the weekend, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Young and Perry Young returned to Salt Lake with him last Monday for an overnight stay. Mrs. Alma Smith cared for the Young children at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Arvil G. Stone and family, of Lehi, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Case and family last Sunday. Mrs. Lorin (Cordelia) Boswell and her three children visited with Mr. and Mrs. Volney Boswell Bos-well the greater part of last week. Fay Jean accompanied them back home and will remain re-main for a while with them. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Young and family, of Clearfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ver Dastrup and son, of Roy, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Jones and Curtis Dastrup, of Provo, were houseguests for the holiday weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dastrup. Das-trup. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Perkins, of Preston, Idaho, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. LaFarge Dastrup. Mr. Perkins will be spending some time in Moab, where he has been asked to engineer a TV tower. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Clark and family moved to Beaver, Utah, May 25, where Mr. Clark is working in a creamery. Mr. and Mrs Kirk Merkley and children, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stevenson. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Powell and 2 daughters, of Layton, spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Powell. Mr. and Mrs. Art Case and son, and Lynn H. Case and two sons, of Bountiful, and Royal Rogers visited last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Case. Mr. and M:s. Wm. Case, of Duchesne, came to see them on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Art Case also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Less Orr, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Dennings and family, of Roy, Lee Powell and 2 daughters, of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Mr. and Mrs. Pete Nielson and son, of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Allen and sons, of Vernal, all of whom were weekend guests. Recent weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hansen were Mr. and Mrs. Kay Hansen, Arthur Sadler and Lee Hansen and children, of Salt Lake and Mrs. Hector Sadler, Mrs Elmer Mower and .daughter .daugh-ter and Mrs. Ronald Nelson, of Payson. Mr. and Mrs. Ben C. Gomm and family left for their home in Wyoming last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hart-man, Hart-man, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hart-man Hart-man and family, Mr. and Mrs. Max Hartman and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Floid Hartman and family all attended the Vernal Ver-nal Livestock Show last Thursday Thurs-day and Friday. Larry Hartman entered pigs in the show, Floid Hartman entered horses in the hprse show, winning three blue ribbons, and Kathrine Hartman entered a cow, which won the grand champion prize. Her father also had cattle in the show. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Holder and family, of Salt Lake City, spent Sunday and Monday with Mrs. Edgar Holder. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Powell are the proud patents of a baby girl, born Saturday in the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Hospital. Mrs. LaVirda Powell and her son are staying with them for a while. The summer Primary party was held Wednesday in the ward hall with games, dancing and refreshments. A musical evening, under the direction of J. Spencer Cornwall, Corn-wall, was held in Vernal Monday, Mon-day, May 24. Bishop Mecham, Mrs. U. B. Winkler, Mrs. Orry Cook, Mrs. Grant Hansen, Mrs. Evan Hansen, Hugo Mitchell, Gardner Goodrich and Miss Ann Boswell attended it, as representatives repre-sentatives from Moon Lake stake. Earl Crosby spent the four-day four-day weekend with his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Crosby. Mrs. Aleen Case attended her brother's graduation in Kamas, then brought him home to visit vis-it for a week with her family. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rey-; Rey-; nolds, of Roosevelt, visited with I Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Young last Sunday. Delyse Hansen entertained 14 of her friends at a birthday party par-ty last Saturday morning. The Pirate theme was carried out in the games and refreshments. Primary Preparation meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Max Hartman last Friday evening. eve-ning. There were 9 officers and teachers present. Mrs. Bernard Dastrup left Sunday for Provo to visit her homer, Mrs. S. W. Bench, who is ill. She plans to return Fn-day Fn-day with her son, Curtis, who will be out of school for the summer. There are about 10 men staying stay-ing at the Dastrup Apartments, who are conducting seismograph and other tests for the Minerals Engineer Co. They expect to be here for an indefinite time. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Beardon moved their household goods into the Jessen home in Altamont, Alta-mont, then left Saturday for Salt Lake, where they will stay and attend school this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thack-er Thack-er and family, of Price; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thacker and family, of Bountiful, and Mr. and Mrs. Bus Mathews and daughter, of Bonanza, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thacker. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Thacker, of Vernal, were there Sunday, also. Mrs. Harold Jones and four sons, of Malad, Idaho, are staying stay-ing with the Roy Rusts for an extended visit. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Tuttle and son. Earl, of Springville, spent Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Neal Titcomb. Duane Harper has returned home from his work and intends in-tends to work here now and stay with his family. Diane and Danny Miles, of Roosevelt, spent 4 days with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miles last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Powell and Mr. and Mrs. Less Orr, Mrs. Max Hartman and Mrs. Chester Hartman attended the funeral in Duchesne Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Claude Davis, Mrs. Orr's cousin. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rogers and family, of Provo; Royal Rogers and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Rogers and their daughters daugh-ters and families visited with Mr. and Mrs. George Rogers, Sunday and Monday. Delton Rogers, of Salt Lake, and Oren Rogers, of Oregon, came to' see them on Monday. Art Smith, whose wife is giving giv-ing piano lessons on Mondays in Mt. Emmons, is conducting dancing classes in the Mt. Emmons Em-mons ward hall at 2 and 3 p.m. on Mondays also. He will have classes grouped according to age, and will have a class for boys if enough are interested. He teaches tap, acrobatic and limbering exercises. Melwood Wall is in Wyoming Wyom-ing working. His wife expects to. join him there in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Adams, of Myton, were Sunday afternoon after-noon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wall. Mr. and Mrs. 'David Gailey and sons left for Layton, Monday. Mon-day. They are purchasing a home there, where Mr. Gailey will teach. Farrell Mohlman trucked their furniture out for them. Mr and Mrs. Baxter spent the holiday weekend in Tooele with Mr. Baxter's sister and family. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Thacker took Mrs. Wesley Thacker to Barstow, Calif, last Thursday to join her husband. Ralph remained re-mained with his grandparents. Mrs. Alton Thacker returned Monday night, but Mr. Alton Thacker will work there for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gardner, of Hayden; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Houtz, of Provo; Mrs. Vivian Richins, of Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Hazel Hassen, of Springville, and Mrs. Rowena Gurr visited with their niece, Miss Gwendolyn Gwen-dolyn Chapman and her grandparents grand-parents last Monday.
