Show Speech Contest Open To Soil Conservationists (Crowded. Out Last Week) Harold Dudley, chairman of the Uintah Basin r Soil Conservation District board 'of supervisors, has announced the 1956 speaking contest con-test sponsored jointly by the Spencer Chemical Company and the National Association of Soil Conservation Districts. iThe subject of this year's contest con-test i s "My Soil Conservation District Its Value to my Com-muntiy." Com-muntiy." Any farmer in the Basin who is a District cooperator may compete in this contest if his major income is from the soil. Liberal prizes on local, state and national levels are offered. The national winner will receive a $1,200 grand prize plus an all-expense all-expense trip to St. Louis for the convention. Tom Rowley of Roosevelt Roos-evelt won the state contest in 1953. The speeches will, be judged from the written script, and 50 credit will be allowed for conservation con-servation accomplishments on the contestant's farm. Entries should be submitted to one of the District supervisors by Otc. 15, 1956.
