Show Mrs. Garda Seeley Church Notes The Young Ladies Mutual Improvement Im-provement Association was reorganized reor-ganized recently with Bernice At-wood At-wood as the new president, Lucille Winkler as actvity counselor and Merle Lisonbee as age group counselor and Daphne Lisonbee as secretary. The outgoing president presi-dent was Florence Powell. The Relief Society held its opening social Tuesday afternoon with games, program and refreshment. refresh-ment. The following program was given, story, Cleona Remington; reading, Lois Goodrich; duet, Laura and Garda Seeley; iano solo, Agnes Larsen. The following ladies were honored with a lovely gift from the Relief Society for having 100 in their montly teaching: Violet Bristol, Lila Gale, Edith Gale, M. Verona Winkler, Hazel Goodrich, Merle Lisonbee and Cleona Remington. Sunday evening program was presented by the - Mutual. The theme was "Jesus, The Christ," taken from the MIA Reading Course Book. John Goodrich conducted con-ducted opening song, "O Thou Rock of Our Salvation;" prayer, Lynn Cook; readers were Drew Goodrich and Carma Atwood; the scripture reading was by Dennis Thomas; The Boyhood of Jesus, by Michael Lisonbee; chorus sang "Jesus, Lover of My Soul;." a scripture reading, Carolyn Goodrich; Good-rich; Parable of The Pearl of Great Price, Kent Remington; The City of Jericho, by Jay Goodrich; chorus sang "Each Cooing Dove;" What The Atonement of Christ Means to Me, by Vivian Powell; closing song "Redeemer of Israel;" prayer, Shana Lee Winkler. I Mr. and Mrs. Keith Duke and two children of Laketown visited here with the U. B. Winkler family. fam-ily. They were here to attend the funeral of Keith's grandmother at Duchesne. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Goodrich and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Goodrich Good-rich spent Saturday and Sunday at Moab. , Mr. and Mrs. Bill Durphy and Bishop Earl Murray spent Sunday here visiting. Mrs. Earl Murray accompanied them back to Salt Lake City where she will spend the week. John V. Anderson spent Sunday here at home. He has been in Salt Lake City the past week with his wife who has undergone a major operation. He returned to Salt Lake the following day. William O. Larsen is taking care of his chores. Mrs. Maxine Todd and two boys left Wednesday for Salt Lake City where she met her husband, Howard, How-ard, who just returned home from Korea. He has spent the past year there. It was a very happy family reunion for Howard .and family. He had never seen his son, Bruce, who was born after he left for overseas duty. Also on hand to meet Howard were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Todd of Ballard, and Mrs. Lucille Winkler. 'BYU students home for the weekend were Loren Goodrich and Pauline Winkler. |
