Dalglelsh FORMER MYTON RESIDENT MARRIED Announcement has been received receiv-ed of the marriage of Ramona Neilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Neilson to Richard E. Webley, June 4th, in the Quincy ' ward chapel, Quincy, Washington. A reception was held June 10th at 9 p.m. in the ward chapel. The Neilson family resided here until about two years ago, when they moved to Washington. The bride has many local friends who will be interested in her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Harris received re-ceived the announcement of the approaching marriage of their niece Ruth Renee Wells, who will recite her vows with Mr. Vincent M. Russillo, Saturday, June 25th at 7 p.m. in a Catholic church in Maryland. A reception will follow the wedding and friends will greet the bride and groom. Renee is the daughter of Mrs. Ilia Wells and has made her home in Washington, Wash-ington, D. C. and in Maryland dur- ing the past three years. She was a frequent visitor at the home of her uncle and aunt before moving to the East. Many members of the Myton LDS church attended the MIA June conference in Salt Lake City last week. Three couples represented repre-sented the Myton MIA in the Dance Festival: Miss Beverly Anderson, An-derson, Miss LaRee Bywater, Miss Elaine Chandler, Dale Peterson, Rlynn Anderson and Theo Anderson. Ander-son. Dance directors for the group were Miss Anderson and Mr. Peterson. Pet-erson. VERNAL PASTOR PREACHES Rev. Harry Gordon, of Vernal, conducted services at the Myton Presbyterian church, .Sunday at 3 p.m. A large congregation was in attendance to enjoy the sermon and the special music was by Mrs. Lowell Babcock, accompanied by Mrs. O. A. Dart, Rev. Gordon will hold services June 26th at the church. Sacrament meeting was held Sunday evening at the Myton LDS church. Bishop Clark Roberts Rob-erts addressed the congregation with remarks on the June conference con-ference of the MIA. Special speak- ers were Carl Jensen, Ray Smith and James Bacon of Roosevelt. A male quartet composed of Owen Burgess, Clifford Fausett, Lowell Babcock and Lowell Roberts, sang "Praise to the Man." LEGION HOLDS MEETING The American Legion and Auxiliary, Aux-iliary, Wm. R. Sands Post and Unit No. 5, held their regular monthly meetings, Friday evening at the Legion Hall. Commander H. C. Cooper was in charge of the Legion session, while Vice-President Alice Brummett conducted the Auxiliary meeting. Reports on the Department. Convention held in Vernal June 1, 2, 3, 4 were presented and plans discussed concerning con-cerning the fall convention which will be held in Myton. The Legion perfected plans for sending representatives rep-resentatives to Boys' State, to be held in July at Camp W. G. Williams. Wil-liams. Mrs. Levi Porritt and granddaughter, grand-daughter, Dixie Lee Oberg, attended attend-ed the June MIA conference held in Salt Lake City last week. Mrs. Erma Harris was hostess at a quilting party at her home Wednesday afternoon. Enjoying the quilting and refreshments were Mrs. Lydia Peatross, Mrs. W. R. Harris, Mrs. Emma Tanner and Mrs. Jennie Tuttle. Mrs. Fred Todd entertained members and guests of the Ladies Aid Thursday afternoon. Mrs. W. R. Harris, president, conducted the regular business meeting, which was followed by quilt block making. Refreshments were served to Mrs. Harris, Mrs. W. E. Burton, Bur-ton, Mrs. I. R. Tuttle, Mrs. Homer Robinson, ,Mrs. J. L. Courtland, Mrs. Lionel Babcock, Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Gentry and daughters, Louise and Patricia, Mrs. Bliss Lott, Mrs. O. A. Dart and Miss Alice Todd and guests, Mrs. George Phillips, Mrs. A, J. Orr and Mrs. Erma Harris. Mrs. Rex Lamb was hostess to her bridge club Friday afternoon. A dessert luncheon was served tc Mrs. Bliss Lott, Mrs. Floyd Lamb, Mrs. Homer Robinson, Miss Alice Todd, Mrs. James Dalgleish, Mrs. Wesley Jenson, Mrs. W. H. Linck and Mrs. George Phillips. Bridge was enjoyed during the afternoon with high score prize awarded to Mrs. Dalgleish. Visitors last week at the home of Mrs. Frank Bowden were Mr. and Mrs. John Wilkinson, of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Wilkinson is a granddaughter of Mrs. Bowden and was formerly Miss Lula Cooper. Coop-er. She resided here during her early childhood. Mrs. Lydia Nielson is visiting in Salt Lake City, where she will spend some time with her daughters daugh-ters and famillies. Mrs. Lydia Peatross left Friday for Salt Lake City to be present at the reunion of the Remington family held at Alpine, Saturday. She will visit her sons in Salt Lake City and her daughter at Provo before returning. Visitors last week at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Deller were Mr. Deller's brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Deller and three sons, of Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. A. J. Orr left Saturday for her home in Hawthorne, Calif, after a short visit with friends and relatives. She was accompanied accompan-ied by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Arthur Orr, Jr. and children, who visited in Neola with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gingell enjoyed en-joyed a weekend visit from Miss Lois Davis and Mrs. Effie Mercer of Salt Lake City. Miss Davis is the daughter of Mrs. Gingell and a former resident of Myton. Mrs. Carlos Clark returned home Saturday from a short visit in Salt Lake City, where she was the guest of her niece, Miss Wil-ma Wil-ma Meyer. TAKE TRIP TO COLORADO Mrs. Ted Tanner accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Calvin Monks and children to Colorado last week where she spent a few days at the Monks' family ranch near Hay den. Miss Alice Todd and Mrs. Geo-Philipps Geo-Philipps were dinner guests at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Fred Fer-ron Fer-ron in Roosevelt, Friday evening. Robert D. Porritt and Kris Porritt, Por-ritt, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Porritt, of Salt Lake City, are vacationing va-cationing at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Porritt, arriving Sunday. Calvin Monks came from the family ranch in Colorado, Friday, to attend to their interests in Myton, My-ton, returning Saturday to Colorado. Colo-rado. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Thomas spent Friday and Saturday in Price to be at the bedside of Mr. Thomas' father, who is quite ill. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bywater and small son, of Salt Lake City, were weekend visitors in Myton to spend a few days with Mrs. Bywater's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. . Broome and with Mr. Bywater's sister, Sarah Bywater. They returned home Sunday evening. eve-ning. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Burton left Sunday for Midvale, where they will visit Mrs. Burton's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ber-nard Biltz and family. While there Mr. Burton will receive medical attention. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Murray went to Salt Lake City as members mem-bers of the Temple Excursion to the LDS Temple, Monday, returning return-ing Tuesday. Max Robinson, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, was a weekend visitor at the home of his mother, Mrs. Homer Robinson. Other members of the family who came for a short visit were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Robinson and family, of Salt Lake City. |
