Show . Two Union Senior Boys Injured In Tuesday Wreck Two 18-year-old senior boys from Union High School, Jerry Kent Nielson and Douglas H. White, are reported in critical condition con-dition in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake as the result of an automobile automo-bile accident Tuesday evening about 9:45 p.m. on the Neola Highway 5.6 miles north of Roosevelt, Roose-velt, near the Cedarview junction. Following the accident, Jerry and Douglas were taken to the Roosevelt LDS Hospital for medical med-ical attention. Jerry suffered a fractured right leg and possible internal in-ternal injuries and was sent immediately im-mediately to the Salt Lake hospital hos-pital where and operation was performed per-formed Wednesday on his leg. Douglas is suffering from a basal skull fracture, brain concussion and internal injuries. He was treated locally and then sent to Salt Lake City Wednesday by ambulance for treatment. Plymouth Car Demolished The 1954 Plymouth sedan, belonging be-longing to Don B. Nielson and driven by his son, Jerry, was completely com-pletely demolished. Accqrding to Trooper Lowell Bair of the Highway High-way Patrol, who investigated, the left-rear tire blew out, causing the car to roll over once and a j half, landing on its top. Both boys were thrown from the car before it rolled over, Douglas was thrown 30 feet down the paved road, and Jerry was thrown 39 feet into the borrow pit. Douglas is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold White and Jerry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don B. Nielson. They reportedly had gone for a ride to Neola and were returning re-turning to Roosevelt when the accident happened. |
