Show TRIDELL Lorna McKee Sunday Program Given By Mission The Indian Mission .presented the program in Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday night. Speakers were Mable Bartlett, Martha Morrill, Phyllis Quitchapoo and President Goodrich. Charlene Quitchapoo sang a solo, "They Found Him In the Temple." The Dennis Harvey family visited vis-ited over the weekend at the Farrell Simmons and the James Harvey homes. A group from our ward attends ed the Seventies . Temple Excursion Excur-sion in Salt Lake, Friday. They were Mr. and Mrs. James Harvey, Har-vey, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Ross, Farrell Simmons, Lester Bartlett, Reed and Duane McKee. Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Merkley and family, from American Fork, visited vis-ited recently at the Clyde Merkley Merk-ley home. A very interesting Fireside Chat was held at the home of Polly McConkie Sunday night. Louis Fife, Vernal Seminary teacher, teach-er, was guest speaker. IN CAR WRECK George Harvey, Alice Glines and Max Warren had the misfortune of being in a car wreck Saturday night. No one was seriously hurt. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Merkley, from Murray, visited at the Bill Harvey and Cylde Merkley homes Sunday. Mrs. Forrest Goodrich and Jack Goodrich made a trip to Salt Lake Friday. Mrs. Jim Montgomery, from Vernal, visited Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Owen Goodrich. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Scholes visited vis-ited Sunday at the Davis Morrill home. Lester Bartlett ran into a deer on his way to Salt Lake Friday morning and had to be towed into in-to Heber. Norman Kitchen and Charles Glines took ther Scouts to the Court of Honor held in Vernal, Sunday afternoon. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Merkley. Douglas McKee was guest of honor at a birthday party Saturday Satur-day afternoon, held at his home. Refreshments were served to 16 guests. Douglas was seven years old. STUDENT GETS GRANT AT EASTERN UNIVERSITY Lawrence Morrill, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. LeRoy Morrill, a student stu-dent of agronomy at Utah State Agricultural College, has been awarded a $4,200 assistantship to Cornell University, Ithica, N. Y. Mr. Morrill's appointment to the eastern University was announced this week by Dr. D. Wayne Thome,, agronomy department head at the US AC. The $4,200 grant will assist Mr. Morrill with further graduate work leading to the degree of doctor of philosophy in soils and soils, physics. phy-sics. He will also serve as an instructor in-structor in agronomy at Cornell. Visiting at the Jack Goodrich home Sunday were Mrs. Rose Gilbert, Gil-bert, Marilyn Zirker and Mrs. Howard Gilbert. |
