Show Duchesne Co. Schools To Get $15,229 Additional funds to be received re-ceived by Utah school districts for the remainder of the current cur-rent school year as a result of the Special Session of the Legislature Legis-lature range from nothing for Jordan to an estimated $358,847 for Salt Lake City. The exact allocations from the $1,525,000 current year appropriation ap-propriation will not be known until ' the State Department of Education obtains up-to-date information in-formation on the factors affecting affect-ing the distribution formula But the approximate amounts have been estimated by the staff of the Legislative Council. The allocations will be made on a basis of three factors increased classroom units plus 4 per cent of the basic program plus transportation allowance on increased classroom units. All districts, of course, share in the 4V2 per cent of basic program allowance. But only those with increased classroom units share in the allowances for increased school population. Jordan, the opulent ' Santa CJaus of Utah's school districts, which is always supposed to give rather than receive, may technically be entitled to an allotment because of an oversight over-sight in the law. While the intention in-tention was to give Jordan nothing, noth-ing, there is some question as to whether that was accomplished accom-plished with respect to a $38,128 item for 16 additional classrom units in that district. The district allocations as estimated es-timated by the legislature will give Duchesne Countv a total of $15,529.00. |
