Show Church Leaders Meet Together A meeting of the executive officers of the church auxiliary organizations met with the bish-oprich bish-oprich last Saturday evening in the Relief Society room. Various phases of ward activity were discussed, after which the remainder re-mainder of the time was turned into a testimonial. Those present were Bishop Richard Olsen, Roy Gardner, Charles Crozier, Deone Spencer, Richard Larsen, Tal Wardle, John Larsen, Theron Horrocks, Ivan Bastian, Thur- man Peterson, Joe Duncan, Kate Duncan, Lester Gardner, Delma Bastian, Norma Crozier, Geneva Gen-eva Whiting, Lois Duncan, Jennie Jen-nie Woodward, Lecta Horrocks and Lola Davis. RECEIVES DISCHARGE Being welcomed home by his family and friends is Lloyd Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen j Davis, who recently received his , discharge from the Navy. This i in the second son released from I the armed forces during the past few weeks. Wayne returned from Japan during March. Little Sandra Mills celebrated celebrat-ed her fifth birthday last Friday afternoon with a party at her home. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by 20 guests. COMMUNITY CLUB Co-hostesses for the Community Commun-ity Club meeting were Myrtle Elmer, Eileen LaRose and La-Rene La-Rene Bastian, which was held at the latter's home last Friday evening. The county home demonstration dem-onstration agent, Mary Lois Reichert showed the group how to prepare several different var. ieties of salads. Musical numbers num-bers were furnished by Deatha Olsen on her accordian. Refreshments Re-freshments were served at the close of the evening to twenty-one twenty-one guests. Wayne Davis was pleasantly surprised last Friday when an army buddy, Harold Hansen, of Phoenix, Arizona, arrived for a few days visit. Wayne returned to Phoenix with him for a brief visit. Mrs. Don Snyder and two daughters, of Roosevelt, are staying at the Wilford Ober-hansly Ober-hansly home, while Don is working work-ing -for an oil company in the vicinity of Price. HONORED ON BIRTHDAY Guest of honor last Wednesday Wednes-day evening was Marion Harrison, Harri-son, when members of his family fam-ily gathered at the parental residence res-idence to wish him "many happy hap-py returns of .the day." After a delicious dinner, an evening of visiting was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Allen Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Don Horrocks and son, Brent, of Neola; Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine Bolton and children, Jay, Douglas and Shirley, of Bennett. Mrs. Harold Whiting and daughter. Carolyn, were Salt Lake City visitors last week. Mrs. Lillian Wilkerson attended attend-ed a school teachers convention in Denver, Colo, last weekend. While there she had the misfortune mis-fortune to sprain her ankle. Victor and Lloyd Horrocks, of Salt Lake City, were Neola visitors vis-itors recently. Louis A. Jensen, representing the stake High Council, was a visitor at Sunday School and Priesthood meeting last Sunday. He also' spoke in Sacrament meeting Sunday evening, as did James Lewis, home missionary. Three local girls represented represent-ed the Union High School in the festival which was held at Price last week. KaDee Bastian, shorthand; Carolyn Whiting, speech and Sherene Henrie, type. Neola Sunday School was well represented at the quarterly quarter-ly conference which was held at Roosevelt last Sunday afternoon. after-noon. Dye, Marguerite Dye, Geniel Jensen Phyllis Ek-sund, Ek-sund, KaDee Bastian, Shirley Cloward, Arvilla Eksund, Jen-ett Jen-ett Smithson, Sherene Henrie, Deatha Olsen, Thurman Peterson, Peter-son, Ivan Bastian, Theron Horrocks Hor-rocks and Charles Crozier. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gardner attended the funeral of Mrs. Gardner's aunt in Payson, Monday. Mon-day. Visitors at the LaVell Horrocks' Hor-rocks' home last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ingram, of Vernal. Enjoying a Sunday visit with their parents were two former Neola girls and their husbands: Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Jenkins, who visited with Mr. and Mrs. Deone Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jensen and son, at the Garth Gardner home, with parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Gardner, who were down from their ranch above Lapoint. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bastian entertained at a delightful evening eve-ning at home on Wednesday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Les Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Lazelle Henrie, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Crozier, and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Larsen. |
