Show LEOTA By Jean Rogers Ward Conference Held On Sunday Ward conference was held last Sunday with stake officers in attendance. From the stake Sunday School were Jess E. Hullinger, Dwain Buchanan, Dolores Do-lores Hutcheons, David Watkins, Glen Allred and Thelma Linck. A lunch was served at noon. Stake President Hollis G. Hullinger, Russell Todd, Clifford Clif-ford E. Drollinger and John L. Swenson presided over the day's meetings. Speakers at Sacrament Sac-rament meeting were Fontella H. Tomlison, Robert Marshall, Bishop Ralph Durfee and President Presi-dent Hollis G. Hullinger. The Relief Society chorus sang "God Is Ever Beside Me." A Primary chorus sang, "My Body Is a Temple." AfteT Sacrament meeting meet-ing a ward officers and teachers meeting was held with all members mem-bers of the stake presidency speaking. Denese Rogers celebrated her seventh birthday with a weiner and marshmallow roast for ten small guests. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Rogers and family attended a wedding dance at Naples for Kermit and Yvonne Harrison, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison visited over night with the Rogers. E. Bert Stoddard spent a day in Salt Lake City this week. Bishop Austin Wardle and Ivan Rogers went to a school board meeting in Vernal, Friday. Fri-day. HONORED AT PARTY Thursday night the Mutual gave a party for Kay Durfee. who is home from England on furlough. E. Bert Stoddard was master of ceremonies for the program. Songs, Glen Stoddard; reading, Afton Rogers, Bishop Austin and Hazel Wardle; song;, Jean Rogers, accompanied by Betty Jensen; song, Norman and Jean Rogers, accompanied by Jean Rogers; jokes, by Norman Rogers and Lewis Littleton; accordion ac-cordion selections, Fay Durfee; son, Delsa and Melba Durfee; talk by Kay. Games, dancing and refreshments were enjoyed by all. Miss Melva Jorgensen, of Salt Lake City, visited with her family over Easter. Venice Durfee is employed at the Avalon school, working in the kitchen. ' Glen and Donna Stoddard, of Ogden, are making their home here. They are living with Walter Wal-ter Stoddard for the present, while building their new home. New telephones have been installed in-stalled in all the homes this week on the new telephone line from Uintah Basin Telephone Company. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Powell and three week old son, El-Garth, El-Garth, of Ogden, and Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Bodily and family, of Lapoint, visited with the M. P. Rogers family. The new baby is the M. P. Rogers' fifth greatgrandchild. |
