Three of these kindergarten classes were started April 6 Duchesne, Myton, and Neola. At Roosevelt, the 'kindergarten classes were commenced April 13. At Duchesne, Grace Bench is the teacher; at Myton, Mrs. H. L. Crapo; at Neola, Ruth Jensen, Jen-sen, and at Roosevelt, Cleon Robinson. First reports on enrollment figures lists 28 at Myton; 18, at Neola; 41, at Duchesne, and 75 at Roosevelt. Pupils are taught in two sections at Roosevelt 'and Duchesne, forenoon and j afternoon. A division was necessary neces-sary due to the large number of enrollees. Mrs. Williams said that plans are underway to open a kindergarten kinder-garten at Altamont prior to closing of the regular school1 term. Advantages of beginning kindergarten kin-dergarten in April are listed by Mrs. Williams: attendance is better and it is more convenient conven-ient for parents, inasmuch as pupils who live on bus routes may ride the bus one way to school, thus making only one daily trip necessary for the parent par-ent to furnish transportation. Kindergarten term is for 6 weeks. Any child who will be six years of age on or before Oct. 31, is eligible for attendance. |
