Show SOCIETY' Peggy Oldroyd, Society Reporter ALTRUS Altrus club met Thursday evening, eve-ning, Nov. 3, at the home of Mrs. Elaine Hulliriger, with Mrs. Afton Birch, newly elected president, pres-ident, presiding. The program consisted of a number of excellent readings by Mrs. Yvonne Gardner. The following members answered an-swered to roll call with a current, cur-rent, event: Mis. BRIDGETTE The home of Mrs, Marvell Neilson was the scene of charming charm-ing hospitality,' Thursday evening, eve-ning, Nov. 3, when she entertained enter-tained members of Bridgette club, Her guest list included Mrs. Clem Labrum, Mrs. Johnnie Cook, Mrs. Verland Nelson, Mrs. Steve Bellon, Mrs. Mont Killian, Mrs. Elmer Eldredge and Mrs. Bill Murdock. Following a temptingly arrang ed dessert luncheon', two tables ' were arranged for bridge. Prizes Priz-es were won by Mrs. Labrum, Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Bellon. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Members of the Neighborhood Sewing club were delightfully entertained Wednesday evening, Nov. 2, at the home pf Mrs. George Hacking, A tasty dessert luncheon and an evening of sewing provided diversion for Mrs, Guy Burton, Mrs. Neldon Nyberg, Mrs. La-Rue La-Rue Laris, Mrs. Llewelyn Jenkins, Jen-kins, Mrs. Floyd Labrum. Mrs. Louis Laris, Mrs. Stanley Hall, Mrs. Parley Rawlings and Mrs. Howard Andrews. SOCIALETTE Charming hospitality prevailed prevail-ed at the Cliff Angus residence last Thursday evening when Mrs. Arden Sullivan and Mrs. Dean Frandsen entertained the Socialette club. Mrs. Joseph Shanks, guest speaker, lectured on "Child Security." Se-curity." The meeting terminated with a delectable dessert luncheon' enjoyed en-joyed by Mrs. Kelly Sprouse, Mrs. Karl Betts, Mrs.- Weldon Richman, Miss Elma Oberhans-ley, Oberhans-ley, Mrs. Evan Olsen, Mrs. Mel-vin Mel-vin Peterson. . THOUGHT AND THIMBLE Mrs. Jack Redmond was hos-to hos-to members of Thought and Thimble club at a prettily appointed ap-pointed two-course luncheon at her home, Monday evening, November No-vember 7. Her guest list numbered five, i and included Mrs. Olen Perry-man, Perry-man, Mrs. Robert Johnson, Mrs. Grant Killian, Mrs. Burt Burgess Bur-gess and Mrs. Art Allen. VICTORY CELEBRATION A vicory is always a reason for celebration, and such was the case at the Homer P. Edwards Ed-wards residence, Tuesday evening, eve-ning, when Mr. Edwards received re-ceived notification of his re-election' as mayor of Roosevelt, and of a sweeping victory for the Progressive party ticket. Gathered to celebrate with Mayor and Mrs. Edwards were Mr. and Mrs. DeVoe Lambert, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bellon, Bob Ferron, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Bet-I Bet-I Ion, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Labrum, Mi', and Mrs. Paul Murphy, Dr. and Mrs. Don Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Ren Johnston, Mr. and Mi's. Cliff Fretwell, Verland Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Bennle Schmiett, Mr. and Mrs. George Hacking, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hacking. Following a word of thanks from Verland Nelson, party chairman, and from Bob Ferron, campaign manager for election support In the campaign, a tasty buffet supper was enjoyed by the group. |
