Show Youngsters To Be Honored At Feast j The annual Youth Banquet, I for boys and girls 12 years of age and older, will be held Friday, Fri-day, May 28, at 8 p. m. at the Roosevelt Stake Tabernacle. Sponsored this year by the combined com-bined Aaronic Priesthood and Girls' Leadership committees of the two Roosevelt wards, the event will feature a dinner, special spe-cial entertainment and the presentation pre-sentation of group and individual achievement awards. The evening's eve-ning's festivities will close with a dance. In charge of the year's fete are general chairmen Martha Shanks and Mrs. Reed Hancock. Mrs. E. J. Nixon will be in charge of the favors which are i small dolls dressed in the cos-itumes cos-itumes of the various countries of the world to portray the banquet's ban-quet's theme, "And All Nations Shall be Gathered Unto Zion." Mrs. Lyle Reynolds and Mrs. Lula Mullins are in charge of foods and serving; Mrs. Gilbert McKenna and Mrs. Theron Lea-vitt, Lea-vitt, table decorations; Mrs. Arvid Fredrickson, stage decorations; decora-tions; and Mrs. John Bourne, program. Bob Holmes, of the Roosevelt Flying Service, and Pete Hunt flew an Aercoupe to Walla Walla, Washington last Monday. The round trip was made in 12 hours 15 minutes, with a two hour lay over in Walla Walla. On the return re-turn flight Bob Holmes flew alone, Pete Hunt having purchased pur-chased a new Luscombe which he flew back from Washington. William Homer Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer P. Edwards, Ed-wards, has been listed as a candidate can-didate for graduation at commencement com-mencement exercises May 28 at Utah State Agricultural college, it is announced by Dr. Franklin-S. Franklin-S. Harris, president of the college. col-lege. Mr. Edwards is majoring in poultry husbandry, with a minor in accounting. Kirk C. Wilkins, sorf of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilkins, of Roosevelt, Roose-velt, will be among the 632 students stu-dents receiving degrees at Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University's commencement com-mencement exercises, June 1. Mr. Wilkins will receive his A. B. degree in the college of fine arts with a major in speech and minor in mathematics. Enock Stolla, Roosevelt, was initiated recently into Intercollegiate Intercol-legiate Knights, service organization organ-ization for men, at the University of Utah. A freshman at the U., Stolla is a graduate of Alterra high school, class of 1944. |
