Show Awards Go To RHS Students At Class Graduation Rite Roosevelt high's class of 1948, 65 in number, received diplomas Wednesday evening at commencement com-mencement exercises held in the Roosevelt stake tabernacle. Lionel Lio-nel Jensen, vice president of the, Duchesne county board of edu cation, set members of the class1 on their future course with the presentation of the sheepskins. Winners of scholarship and recognition awards were named at the graduation ceremonies as follows: Burgess Foundation scholarship, scholar-ship, $100 to meet enrollment costs to any of Utah's 3 colleges, awarded to Virginia Lambert, who chose Brigham Young university. uni-versity. Past recipients of this scholarship are Delpha Collins, Rita Hutchins, Rose Marie Bro-kaw Bro-kaw and Laurel Snyder. University of Utah scholarship, scholar-ship, LaRue Linck; Utah State Agricultural college scholarship, Mary Lee Mortensen, Gwen Stone, alternate; Brigham Young university scholarship, Mary Ellen El-len Stewart, Renee Labrum, alternate. al-ternate. Carbon Junior college scholarships scholar-ships which are awarded to one boy and one girl from the graduating gradu-ating class, were given to LeRoy Pulos and Eva Sprouse. Danforth Foundation recognition recogni-tion awards, consisting of books which go to outstanding students fell to" Terry Morrill and Audrey Smith, with Jay Horrock's receiving re-ceiving a year's subscription to the Readers Digest. |
