Show SOCIETY ALICE DIXON TO WED ROBERT B. ANDREWS Announcement is made this week of the engagement and approaching ap-proaching marriage of Miss Alice Delenna Dixon, daughter of Mrs. Charles O. Dixon, of Provo, to Robert B. Andrews, son of Mr. David R. Andrews, of Roosevelt. The marriage will lake place Juno 4 in the Salt Lake L D S temple. Following the wedding, the bridal party will have a luncheon at Hotel Utah. Miss Dixon is a member of Xi Beta of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. soror-ity. She is a graduate of the B "V5 U where she was affiliated with Phi Delta Pi, national sorority of physical education. During the past year she has i been teaching in the Lehi high j school. ' Mr. Andrews is also a graduate of B'Y U and an Army veteran of World War II. He is a teacher in the Roosevelt high school. BIRTHDAY PARTY The Roosevelt City Park was the scene of a bargeque last Saturday evening when Mrs. Mont Killian, Mrs. Steve Bellon and Mrs. Ned Bellon entertained in honor of Stevc and Ned Bellon Bel-lon on their birthday anniversaries. anniver-saries. A treasure hunt formed the evening's entertainment with ten guests participating in the hunt for the hidden treasure. Those enjoying the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Mont Killian, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Eldrcdge, Mrs. Cleo Mohlman, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmielt, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Moysh. Mr. and Mrs. Marvell Neilson, Mr, and Mrs. Clem Labrum, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Cook, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nelson. THOUGHT AND THIMBLE Mrs. Farrell Wilkins entertained enter-tained members of Thought and Thimble club at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. A light luncheon lunch-eon was served with covers laid for Mrs. Ted Jensen, Mrs. Elroy Wilkins, Mrs. Olen Perry man, Mrs. Harold Dillman, Mrs. Jack Redmond, Mrs. Robert Johnson, and Mrs. Art Allen. Following luncheon gifts were presented to Mrs. Redmond, Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Pcrryman, the occasion being their birthdays. BRIDGETTE Spring held full sway at the attractive luncheon at which Mrs. Marvell Neilson entertained members of Bridgelte club last Thursday evening. A salad course luncheon was featured with attractive bouquets of tulips tu-lips and lilacs centering each small table. Places were marked for eight guests, including Mrs. Mont Killian, Mrs. Elmer El-dredge, El-dredge, Mrs. John Mohlman, Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Mrs. Ned Bellon, Mrs. Steve Bellon, Mrs. .Clem Labrum, Mrs. Johnnie Cook and Mrs. Bill Nelson. Following luncheon, tables were arranged for bridge. Prizes were won by Mrs. Labrum, Mrs. Steve Bellon and Mrs. Mohlman. FRIDAY BRIDGE Gay bouquets of spring flowers flow-ers formed the attractive decorative decora-tive theme at the Axel Birch residence Friday evening when Mrs. Birch entertained members of her club. A tempting desert luncheon was served to Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mrs. Fred Fcrron, Mrs. R. S. Jordan, Mrs. Eugene Harmston, Mrs. Les Mullins. Mrs. Bob MnicVi Mrs J. V. McLea. Mrs. C. L. Ashton, Mrs. Bennie Schmielt, Mrs. John Bourne, Mrs. Gordon Harmston, Mrs. Wayne Malin, Mrs. Parley Lambert. Mrs. Homer Edwards, and Mrs. Louis Corbridgc. Bridge formed the diversion following luncheon, with prizes going- to Mrs. Weiss, Mrs. Malin and Mrs. Mullins. CONTRACT CLUB Another bright spot on this week's social calendar was the delightful dinner party at which Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch entertained enter-tained members of Contract club Saturday evening at the Roosevelt Roose-velt hotel. Tables, attractively centered with bridal wreath and Iris, had places marked for Mr. and Mrs. Les Mullins, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Ashton, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fcrron, Fcr-ron, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Malin, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chamberlin, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marimon, Mrs. Turner and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Orser. Bridge at the Birch residence formed the diversion following dinner. Prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins. iLAPOINT D U P LAPOINT (Special) The Daughters of Utah Pioneers met 'last week at the home of Mrs. 1 Frank Huber with Captain June Lee presiding. Opening prayer was offered by Mildred Mowrcy. Paper flowers were made with which to decorate the graves on Memorial Day. Closing prayer was given by Emma Savage. Mable Jenkins and Ardith Huber, acting as hostesses, served refreshments to eleven guests. ANNOUNCES ENGAGEMENT Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Labrum, of Fruitland, announce the engagement en-gagement of their daughter, Anna, to Boye Clark, son of Ned Irvin Clark, of Vernal, and Mrs. J. M. Hall, Lyman, Wyo. A definite date for the wedding has not been set. PARTY HONORS SENIORS Members of the senior class of Roosevelt high school and their partners gathered at the Paul Wilkins residence. Wednes day evening, following the graduation grad-uation exercises and dance, for one last "fling" as the Class of '48. A pink and white decorative theme was followed with the table beautifully laid with a lace cloth centered with a low arrangement ar-rangement of pink and white daisies flanked by lighted pink tapers in crystal holders. A buffet buf-fet supper was served to approximately approx-imately GO guests. Mr. B, West Bclnap, guest speaker at the Commencement exercises and a member of the Brigham Young University faculty, fac-ulty, and class advisors Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Neilson and Miss Wilma Christiansen, were spec-cial spec-cial guests. |
