Show Income Tax Law Rights Explained The U. S. Department of Commerce, Com-merce, has prepared a pamphlet on the rights of small business in income tax litigation. Its title is "Your Rights of Review When the Government Questions Your Income Tax Return." The publication stresses the point that operators of small business, after making what they believe to be an honest and complete com-plete income tax return, are shocked to receive notice from the Federal government that their returns are deficient. In most cases of deficient returns, re-turns, it stales, the taxpayer may sign 'an agreement and pay the deficiency. If dissatisfied with the government's figures, he may have a hearing of the case before the revenue agent in charge. The Commerce Department is making the booklet available for public distribution free of charge. In Utah it can be obtained from the Department of Commerce, Federal Building, Salt Lake City. |
