Show Water Views Set For Airing At October 9 Meeting Irrigation company share holders hold-ers and individuals interested in the development of Uintah Basin's Ba-sin's water resources will hear a report on possibilities' and probabilities, prob-abilities, , Saturday, October 9, when representatives of the U. S. Reclamation Bureau and the Utah Water and Power Board make an appearance in Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. H. L. Allred, instigator of the water meeting, reported Thursday Thurs-day that the Regional office of the Reclamation Bureau in Salt Lake will send Reed Jarman, irrigation engineer, to the local conference. Mr. Allred indicated further that William Wallace, chairman of the Water and Power Pow-er Board, may speak for his group on October 9. With reclamation and multipurpose multi-purpose projects dominating the western scene, and with the Colorado river waters now al located among the Upper Basin states the Roosevelt meeting is being called primarily to discuss the Central Utah project and its effect upon the Uintah Basin. Presumably the subject of lesser local water development will enter en-ter the picture and views will be aired as to whether it is more feasible to tie them in with the proposed mammoth Central Utah or look to the state legisualure for their immediate development. develop-ment. Reclamation minded Basinites see in the forthcoming meeting a presentation of an accurate outline out-line of what might be expected and what can be done locally to promote complete water utilization. uti-lization. Irrigation companies will notify, no-tify, their share-holders of the meeting, but individuals generally gener-ally interested in water and hydro-electric development will be extended an open invitation to take part in the discussions. |
