ENTERTAINS FRIENDS The Xavier Bellon' home was the scene of much merriment Friday evening, August 5, when Charlene, Louise and Carol Bellon Bel-lon entertained a group of friends. Games and dancing were featured fea-tured in the evening's entertainment entertain-ment participated in by Loya Benson, Peggy Oldroyd, Howard How-ard Allred, Arvin Bellon, Dick Owens, Chall Allred, Bob Perron, Per-ron, Virginia Burton, James Hall, Reid Hullinger, Ann Patterson, Bob Benson, Myrth Miller, Merlin Mer-lin Reynolds and Boyd Mullins. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING A prettily appointed dessert luncheon was the center of comment com-ment at the hospitality extended Wednesday evening", August 3, by Mrs. Neldon Nybcrg. Enjoying the occasion were Mrs. Stanley Hall, Mrs. Guy Burton, Bur-ton, Mrs. Floyd Labrum, Mrs. George Hacking, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Louis Laris, Mrs. Harold Gardner, Mrs. Robert Hall and Mrs. Howard Andrews. CONTRACT CLUB Listed as one of the lovliest events on the week's social calendar cal-endar was the formal dinner at which Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Ashton entertained members and guests of the Contract club at the Frontier Fron-tier Grill. Saturday evening. August 6. A striking arrangement of gladioli centered the dining table which was arranged with covers marked for Mr. and Mrs. Ray S. Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Sam G. Weiss, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Ax-el Birch, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Or-ser. Or-ser. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mari-mon'. Mari-mon'. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cham-berlin, Cham-berlin, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wil-kins, Wil-kins, Mrs. Lester Mullins and Mrs. Glenn Miller. Bridge at the Ashton residence terminated the evening. CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY August 5 was an important day for little Connie Labrum, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Labrum, La-brum, who celebrated her 3rd birthday aniversary with a lawn party at the home of her grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Crumbo. Twenty-five young guests celebrated cel-ebrated the event with Connie and enjoyed an afternoon of I games followed by delicious refreshments. re-freshments. A beautiful birthday . cake topped with white frosting I and dainty rose buds formed the decorative centerpiece. SWIMMING PARTY A swimming party and weiner i roast at Lake Borcn, Monday evening, provided gay entertainment entertain-ment for the younger set. FAUN DURFEY TO WED Faun Durfey will change her name from Miss to Mrs. on August Aug-ust 15 when she becomes the bride of Vern Titcombe, in a ceremony to be performed in the Salt Lake L D S temple. ' Miss Durfey, a. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hamilton, of Roosevelt, will enroll as a senior sen-ior student at Roosevelt high school this fall. Mr. Titcombe, a son of Mrs. Laveda Titcomb, of Mt. Emmons, graduated from Altamont high school in 1947 and at present is employed with Wintcrton Bros. in Roosevelt. CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY A delightful lawn party Saturday Sat-urday afternoon at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Angus, marked a memorable occasion oc-casion for little Richard Kent, when he celebrated his sixth birthday anniversary. MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED Mr. and Mrs. Claude Warden, Roosevelt, announce the marriage mar-riage of their daughter, Janet, to Ray Burke, of Vernal. The nuptials were performed at Elko, Nevada. The new Mr. and Mrs. Burke j are now at home to their friends at their residence in Vernal. ' BRODERICK REUNION A reunion of the Broderick families was held August 5-7 at Aspin Grove in Provo canyon. Hillard Broderick, president of the family organization, was unable un-able to perform his duties as chairman of this year's meeting, due to illness. His daughter, I Clara, took charge of the annual affair in his stead. I The three day event featured games, programs and group work on genealogy. I . August 8, to celebrate Mr. Ol-I sen's 73rd birthday anniversary with a family reunion. ' Forty-eight members of the Ol-1 sen family participated in the af-1 ternoon's events which featured , a tempting plate lunch, games, 1 group singing and a program in which the following took part: Renae Hancock, Rose Ann Olsen, Ol-sen, Charles Timothy, and Carolyn Car-olyn Whiting. A history of the Olsen family was read by Rich ard Olsen. Presentation of a group gift was made by Myrtle Sorenson, with a response by Mr. John' A. Olsen. 1 Dellis Spencer was chairman of the affair. |
