Show Sprouse-Reifz pens Uariefy Store En City's Newest Building Sprouse-Reitz, Inc., officially opened their eleventh Utah store in the new Harmston building, Wednesday, and announced that a grand opening will be held Saturday, August 13. With headquarters at Portland, Oregon, Sprouse-Reitz now boasts 250 merchandising units throughout the west. Their operations oper-ations are confined to the western states, where Sprouse-Reitz has become recognized as one of the region's major chain variety firms. In Utah, Sprouse-Reitz variety stores arc located at, Brigham, Murray, Mid vale," Am erican Fork, Springville, Nephi. Richfield, Rich-field, Price, Salt. Lake City, and Roosevelt. District offices of the chain are at Salt Lake with R. W. Madsen as district manager. The new Roosevelt store is under un-der the managership of Howard Harmston. Sprouse-Reitz, Inc., makes its Roosevelt debut housed in eastern east-ern Utah's newest and most modern mod-ern business building. Occupying Occupy-ing the corner of Lagoon and Main streets, the Harmston building, build-ing, named after Ed. F. and Mary E. Harmston was completed complet-ed on August 1 by A. B. and Mildred Harmston Norling. Standing on the site where Ed. F. I-iarmslon, founder of Roosevelt and father of Mrs. Norling, had his office, it will be appropriately dedicated to Rocsevelt's foundermd'his wife, Mary E. Harmston, at ceremonies ceremon-ies Saturday morning. A bronze plaque, cast by a California artist, will be placed on the Main Street front of the structure at 11 a. m. Saturday morning1, and the Harmston building will be officially dedicated dedi-cated by the Rev. Joseph F. Hogben, vicar of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal mission at Whiterocks. The southwest corner of the new business block will be occupied oc-cupied by the Sather Jewelry company, after Mr. Sather has applied interior finishing touches. |
