Show Committees Named To Direct Neola's July Celebration Neola's annual July 4th and 5th celebration, which attracts rodeo enthusiasts from - Both Utah and its neighboring states, this year will be bigger and bet-' bet-' ter than ever, reports Les Gardner, Gard-ner, chairman. $1700.00 in prize money is being be-ing put on the line, and a full program including horse pulling, (only Uintah Basin teams eligible), eli-gible), chariot races, horse races, a great rodeo, novelties, a special July 4 program, plus two big dances and other features, are in the offing. The Roosevelt .high school band, under the direction of Johnny Cook, will be on hand to add color to the celebration. Les Gardner announces the following committee members heading the events: Bill Mitchell and Tal Wardle, vice chairmen; Elroy Halverson, horse pulling contest; Jim Rhodes, horse racing; rac-ing; Joe Malnar, chariot races and novelties; Deone Spencer, rodeo; Tal Wardle, dances; Charley Crozier, grounds; Harold Whiting, concessions; O. L. Burton, Bur-ton, secretary and advertising; Jas. O. Peterson, July 4th program. pro-gram. The finance committee is made up of Bishop Lionel Jensen, Del-lis Del-lis Spencer, Lavell Horrocks and Lazelle Henrie. Several improvements on the grounds, in anticipation of the largest turn-out in the history of this colorful event, have been made. |
