Show Funerals ROBERT STEPHEN LONG Services were conducted Monday Mon-day at 1 p. m. in the Bluebell ward chapel for Robert Stephen Long, week-old son of Alfred G. and Martha E. Bristol Long. Born May 16, at Roosevelt, the infant died Friday, May 22, while enroute to a Salt Lake City hospital. hos-pital. Services at the chapel were conducted by Bishop Gardner Goodrich, as follows: Opening song, "Let Little Children Come To Me," Beth and Maxine Winkler; Wink-ler; invocation, Wm. O. Larsen; speaker, James Ivan Bird; duet, "Where We'll Never Grow Old;" speaker, U. B. Winkler; "Brahm's Lullaby," Beth and Maxine Winkler, Gardner Goodrich and Wm. O. Laxsen; remarks, Bishop Goodrich. The benediction was offered by James Bird. Burial was in the Bluebell cemetery under the direction of the Dillman Funeral Home, with U. . B. Winkler dedicating the grave. ; JEFFERSON CLEMENT ' MATHEWS Funeral services for Jefferson Clement (Clem) Mathews were conducted Tuesday, May 27, at 2 p. m. in the Upalco LDS chapel, with Bishop Hugo Mitchell Mitch-ell officiating. Musical selections were sung by the Upalco male quartet, with vocal solos by Warren Goodrich and Reid Durfee. Speakers were Edwin L. Murphy, Bishop Hugo Mitchell and Oscar Nelson. The invocation was offered by James Carroll, Claude Iorg offered of-fered the benediction. Mr. Mathews was born October Octob-er 18, 1891 at Vernal, a son of Jeff and Edith Jones Mathews. He died at Lander, Wyoming, May 22, of pneumonia, following follow-ing a short illness. Survivors include in-clude his mother and the following follow-ing brothers and sisters:: Mrs. Clara E. Hancock, Pleasant Valley; Val-ley; Claude A. Mathews, Bluebell; Blue-bell; Mrs. Almeda Moon, and Charles and Glenden Mathews, Riverton, Utah; W. M. Mathews and Mrs. Pearl Cummings, Upalco; Upal-co; Mrs. Thelma Barker, Bridge-land; Bridge-land; Mrs. Alice Lloyd, Taft, Calif.; Z. E. Mathews, Midvale, Utah. Burial was in the Upalco cemetery cem-etery under the direction of the Dillman Funeral Home. Forest and Devere Hancock, Albert and Fred Mathews, Rutherford Mathews Math-ews and Ross Moon served at pallbearers. ' |
