Wiscombe were visitors at the Neola school last Wednesday, Wednes-day, investigating the need for a new heating system for the school building. Two representatives represen-tatives of the furnace company were with them and measured the building for the new equipment equip-ment which is to be installed in the near future. Party for Ex-teacher Honoring their former instructor, instruc-tor, students of Leland Wiscombe Wis-combe entertained him and his wife in the Relief society room last Saturday evening. The time was spent in games, after which a chill supper was served by the following: Desiree and Janice Jan-ice Spencer, Virginia Gardner, Stella Malnar, Marilyn Ober-hansley, Ober-hansley, Dorothy Peterson, Wendell Wen-dell Duncan, Jay Horrocks, Wayne Smithson, Lloyd Davis, Oral Allred, Majorie Gardner. Honors Bee-Hive Leader Last Sunday evening the Gathers and Guardians of the Neola Bee-Hive entertained at a banquet, honoring Mrs. Zella Gardner, former teacher of the Guardians. After the banquet a fireside chat was enjoyed by those present. Mrs. Beth Shoell succeeds Mrs. Gardner as teacher. teach-er. Orrin Curry and daughter, Oreanc made a business trip to Salt Lake City the fore part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. John Keel made a business trip to Salt Lake City last week. Mrs. Otis Burton has accepted a position as teacher in the Roosevelt school. Arbrun Wilkerson has taken over the management of the Standard Service station. Mr. Esklund of Whitrocks has purchased the farm belonging to Elmer Apgood. Leland Wiscombe, former principal of Neola school, visited there last Thursday and talked to the students about his experiences exper-iences in the Navy. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Gardner of Salt Lake City were business visitors in Neola last week end, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Elmer and daughter, LcRene of Ogdcn spent a few days here visiting relatives and friends. Pvt. Jack Leavitt, who has been stationed at Carlsbad, New Mexico, was here on a furlough. Mrs. Jack Leavitt, who is teaching teach-ing Home Economics in Spanish Fork accompanied him. Mrs. Zina Mecham and son, Leo of Springville spent a few days visiting with relatives and friends. Merlin Mecham, who is attending at-tending military school in Denver, Den-ver, Colorado passed through Roosevelt last week and his relatives rel-atives spent a few minutes with him between busses. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Woodward of Susaville, California were house guests at the Morris Woodward Wood-ward home last week. Mr. Woodward Wood-ward has accepted a government position in South America and will leave for there in the near future. Celebrates Birthday . Miss Arlene Horrocks entertained enter-tained a number of guests at her htfme last Sunday evening, the ocassion being her thirteenth birthday. After an evening of games, light refreshments were served by her mother. Party for "Service Men Honoring Jack Leavitt and Beryl Gurr, who were enjoying furloughs at home, a party was held in the Neola chapeT last Monday evening. The time was spent in dancing and a brief program pro-gram was given. |
