Show 1945 Agricultural Census Planned During the period of November Novem-ber 15th to December 1st, Mr. R. J, McSpadden, Area supervisor supervis-or for the State of Utah and Southern Nevada, Bureau of Census is conducting a training school in Salt Lake City for the local supervisors who will be in charge of the 1945 Agricultural census which will be taken of all farms in the United States during dur-ing the month of January, 1945. They are trained in management procedures and forms used for the census as well as techniques in securing accurate information. informa-tion. Area 1, in which Uintah and Duchesne counties are located will be in charge of Joseph H. Watkins, Jr., supervisor, Logan, Utah and Amos P. Hansen, assistant as-sistant supervisor, Tremonton, LTtah. Area 1 comprises Box Elder, Eld-er, Cache, Rich, Weber, Morgan, Summitt, Wasatch, Carbon, Daggett, Dag-gett, Uintah and Duchesne counties. coun-ties. They are asking the complete com-plete cooperation of all farmers and agriculturists in the area to give the fullest possible support and cooperation in order that this census be accurate and complete. com-plete. Upon this census will depend many of the benefit payments, the postwar planning, the income in-come to the extension service, and the present war emergency programs. The law provides that the information gathered will not be made available to any one or any organization except ex-cept to the Census bureau. It will not be used for income of any other tax purposes. The information in-formation given to the enumerators enumer-ators will be secret and every enumerator is pledged to reveal no information to anyone outside out-side of the census bureau under heavy penalty of the law. Selection of the enumerators for each district will start immediately im-mediately and anyone who wishes wish-es to assist, who is capable of performing the duties is urged to get in touch with the local supervisors above or with Mr. James Nevins, Local supervisor for the Indian service, at Fort Duchesne, Utah as soon as possible. |
