Show tluSlEU300C Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Goodrich Good-rich made a business trip to Salt Lake City on Thursday and returned re-turned home on Friday. Slade Mathews had the misfortune mis-fortune to break his arm while riding a calf. It was the same arm he broke a few years ago and had so much trouble with it. The Ward Boy Leaders gave the Aaronic Priesthood, winners of the three softball games that were previously played , an un-forgctable un-forgctable outdoor party on Wednesday evening about 2 miles south of town in Mathews pasture. A huge bonfire and a full moon, plenty of hot chili and cakes and postum, about 50 lively boys and girls and their leaders and plenty of soft music and the hay rack ride, made the evening very much complete. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Seeley spent a few days in Salt Lake City and Provo on business last week. A large crowd attended the farewell party given for Bishop Kerksiek who is leaving the Mt. Emmons ward for Beaver, Utah. Bluebell furnished three parts for the program. Franklyn and Harry Smith left on Monday for Salt Lake City where they will seek employment. em-ployment. Miss Betty Lou Seeley accompanied them there where she has employment. Lee Pitts returned to his home in Provo on Monday after spending spend-ing the past two weeks here with his cousin Clyde Lisonbee. Mrs. Florence McClusky and children and Ott Murray of Tooele are here visiting their father, Robert A. Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Gowans and family left on Sunday after spending the past month here helping Mrs. Gowan's father, R. A. Murray on his farm. On Sunday graduation exercises exer-cises were held for the Seagull girls and Trailbuilder Boys out of the Primary. The following girls and boys received diplomas Rolla Bird, Ardis Goodrich, Lucy Powell, Lynetta Bird, Dollie Bird, Lena Gale, Lois Gale, Melvera Cook, Max Anderson, Ander-son, Claud Mathews ancU Allen Larsen. President Murphy" of Upalco was also present. Lynn Richens of Vernal was a business visitor in Bluebell on Friday. Mrs. Laura Seeley left on Sunday for Salt Lake City as a representative of Duchesne Stake to attend a school at Emigration canyon on Polio. The course will last for five days. John Thorsen was a Upalco' visitor on Sunday. A large group of ladies gave Mrs. Agnes Larsen a house warming on Thursday. A nice gift was presented to Agnes and a pot luck lunch was served to, Laura Seeley, Zella Goodrich, Thelma Cook, Sylvia Goodrich, Florence Hancock, Loretta Murray, Mur-ray, Dora Burdick, Verona Winkler, Mrs. Gale, Lydia Hancock, Han-cock, Berneice Atwood, Clcona Remington, Mina Goodrich, I Martha Thorsen and Agnes Larsen. Lar-sen. An error in last week was that Joseph Jenkins had received an honorable discharge, but he was only home on a short furlough. Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Stone and son, Kay were visiting relatives here on Monday and Tuesday. Lee Pitts of Provo spent a few days here visiting his cousin, Clyde Lisonbee. Evan Goodrich and Rex Allred took a load of livestock to Salt Lake during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Hanson of Salt Lake City returned to their home on Sunday after spending their vacation here with Mrs. Hanson's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Henry Wathen. Mr, and Mrs. Leland Goodrich took Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith and three children to their home at Helper on Saturday. They returned home on Sunday. A dance was held on Tuesday honoring all the soldier boys who are home The boys were Douglas Allred, Donald Burdick, Franklyn Smith, Clyde Lisonbee, Lison-bee, Henry Jenkins, Howard Goodrich, Joseph Jenkins, Clinton Clin-ton Bird and R. G. Lisonbee. Miss Elaine Hancock is visiting visit-ing a few days in Salt Lake City. |
