Show ALTONAH A terrible hail storm past through Altonah Sunday, August Aug-ust 15 lasting about 20 minutes causing a lot of damage breaking break-ing windows in many houses, destroying gardens and hay crops and beating out many fields of grain. Mrs. Louise Case and daughters daugh-ters of Salt Lake City are visiting visit-ing with her mother, Mrs. Albert Rochel for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Mecham and children of Bingham and Mrs. Lula Mecham of Salt Lake City were visiting at the home of thei.r sister and daughter, Mrs. Lynn Farnsworth and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Jessen spent the week end in Salt Lakci City last week. Lon Dump was able to come home last week from the hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake City where he has been for a while receiving medical treatment. Mrs. James Johnson of Salt Lake City is visiting her sister, Mrs. Mary Bowden for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Guenon of Leadville, Colorado, are spending a few days with relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith and daughter, Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. Arvel Stone and son were shopping in Roosevelt Tuesday. Hans Jacobson, who has been in the LDS hospital with a broken brok-en leg, was able to come home Wednesday, his leg is in a cast. Mr. and Mrs, El. Behunin and family, Mrs. Vera Clements and family of Ogden spent several, days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carol Mair. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fowler and family of California were guests at the home of the former's brother, Jesse A. Fowler last week. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Shiner were Roosevelt visitors Thursday. Thurs-day. Wm. J. Bond of Duchesne was in Altonah seeing about school bus drivers and other business Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith and daughter, Barbara left Thursday for Bear, Idaho where they will spend two weeks visiting visit-ing relatives. Lyndon Bird of Bluebell was killing weeds on the James B, Murray farm last week. . Mrs. Ida Conklin and family left for Salt Lake City Friday. Mrs. Conklin has purchased a home there and is getting it ready to move into in the near future. Mrs. Lucy Long accompanied accom-panied her. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Johnson and daughter of Tooele were in Altonah the latter part of the week visiting relatives. Don Brotherson of Boncta was in town on business Friday. Mrs. Maxine Holman left the first part of the week for California. Cali-fornia. Dee Hamilton of Upalco and Earl Reese of Arcadia were buying buy-ing cattle in Altonah during the week. Mrs. Howard Lucas and Mrs. Ellen Madsen received a telephone tele-phone call from their husband and son, Howard, stating he had arrived in the U. S. A. and expected ex-pected to be transferred to Fort Douglas. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Fredrick-son Fredrick-son of Price were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Ralphs Mrs. Fredrickson is Mrs. Ralph's sister. Mrs. Ed. Davis of Salt Lake City was visiting in Altonah several days this week. She was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. Fowler while here. |
