Mrs, Annie Stoker and grandson grand-son of Salt Lake City were visitors visit-ors here the past week. Mrs. Stoker is a former resident of Lapoint. Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Justice received re-ceived word that their son, Harrison, Har-rison, had arrived in Salt Lake City from overseas and was discharged. He has been overseas for over 2 years having 124 points. He arrived home the day his little daughter was two year old, it was the first time he had seen her. Mrs. Minnie Reynolds, Mrs. Rhoda Lee and Mrs. Deon Mcrk-ley Mcrk-ley and small son were visitors in Provo during the week, Orloa Reynolds Woodward accompanied accom-panied them home for a two weeks visit, she has been in Provo the past while studying music. Joan Nebeker, grand daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Nebeker returned re-turned home Monday from Provo where she has spent the summer on a visit. Mrs. Lillie Bigclow accompanied accom-panied Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Perry of Vernal and Mrs. Martha Hair of Salt Lake City to. Provo on Monday to attend the funeral of their uncle, Benjamin Hair. Mr. and Mrs; Oren Kilbough of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs Hugh Gagon and children of Roosevelt visited the girls parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mowery during the week, Mrs. Lela Hullingcr and children chil-dren also Mrs. Donna Hartle and children and Beth Perry attended attend-ed a birthday party for Lynn Wilkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Wilkins of Roosevelt on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Taylor and Mrs. Althep Gray of Salt Lake City visited his mother, Mrs. Roxa Tayor her on Sunday. Word was received here Saturday Satur-day night that Mrs. Guy Long of Roosevelt, o former resident of Lapoint had died at the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Hospital. Funeral and burial will be at Lapoint pending word on her 3 sons who are in the armed forces. Bishop George R. Hacking and wife left Saturday night for Salt Lake City to be at the bed side of her mother who is very ill. Mrs. Mary Sessions of Salt Lake City visited her brother, Thurmer Rasmussen and family on Sunday, also Mr. and Mrs. Grand Rasmussen and daughter, Lessa of Vernal visited them. Mrs. Elnora Vernon of Vernal visited her daughter, Mrs. Howard How-ard Hurst and family during the week. Lloyd Taylor and family of Vernal visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas Taylor, Sr., here on Sunday. Mcrvin Horrocks and family also Rodney Horrocks and family fam-ily of Vernal visited their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Horrocks Hor-rocks here on Sunday. Funeral Held At Lapoint Funeral services were held Saturday at 5 o'clock' at the home of Alphonzo Van for their 32 year old son who died Friday Fri-day at the Ft. Duchesne Hospital. Bishop George R. Hacking presiding; pre-siding; duet, "In The Garden", by Rex and Cynthia Taylor; prayer, Albert Norton; duet, "You Sweet Little Rose Bud", Irva Huber and Cynthia Taylor; talks, Jerry Harrison; and L. J. Walker; Prayer, Bishop George R. Hacking. Burial was in the Tridell cemetery. He is survived by his parents and 5 brothers land sisters. |
