Show I FOUNTAIN GREEN 1 By Special Correspondence Funeral services for Dr. P. L. Holman were held Thursday at 2 p. m. at the ward chapel following the services held at Ml. Pleasant, lhe ward choir furnished the music. mu-sic. The speakers were Dr. E. '. Root, Dr. Garland and Dr. Pace of Salt Lake, who spoke in behalf of the medical profession of the state; Bishop P. C. Peterson of Ephraim, Frank Martinez of Richfield, Rich-field, President James L. Nielson and Leo Hansen of Lehi, past district dis-trict governor of the Utah and Idaho Lions clubs. They all paid beautiful tributes to his life. Mrs. Joseph R. Christiansen sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and Mrs Charles R. Coombs and Mrs. W. M. Coombs sang "I Know My Heavenly Father Knows." The pall bearers were J. L. Strong, J. L. Lund, Joseph Matson, H. C. Jacobs, Ja-cobs, O. M. Aldrich, A. E. Jones and R. W. Candland of the Mt. Pleasant Lions club. Interment was in the Fountain Green cemetery ceme-tery where the flower covered grave was dedicated by Hilton Robertson of Provo. Funeral services for Gayle Crawford, Craw-ford, 4, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crawford of Bingham and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Augason, were held Monday afternoon after-noon at the ward chapel. The speakers were Bishop Lyons and Odell Peterson of Bingham Canyon, Can-yon, L. P. Hansen of Richfield, Urban Ur-ban S. Madsen and Osmond Crow- Ither. Katie Anderson and Bessie Rasmussen sang "Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam". Lenna Thurber played a piano solo, "To a Wild Rose" and a vocal solo, "Abide with Me" was given by Eugene Peterson, both of Bingnam Canyon. Can-yon. Prayers were offered by O. A. Allred and N. M. Jensen. Music was by the ward choir. They have the sympathy of everyone in their sad bereavement. Two M. I. A. plays, "Who Kissed Barbara" and "Women Folks'", were given Friday evening under the direction of Miss Laurel Aagard. A large crowd attended. The Huggins family held their fifth annual reunion Friday -evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Green. A good program was given and delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served to 31 members. Mr. and Mrs. Will Orme and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Heber McPherson of Nephi attended the reunion. V a 1 d o n Christiansen returned home from Portland, Oregon Wednesday Wed-nesday evening to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Christiansen, for a short time. Miss Pauline, Madsen had her tonsils removed Monday and is reported re-ported to be improving rapidly. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Allred returned return-ed home Saturday from Salt Lake where she was operated on for goitre. Mr. and Mrs. Odell Christensen and baby have returned from Manti where they spent the past month. A number of M. I. A. officers attended at-tended the M. I. A. Institute at Manti Wednesday evening. A Halloween party was given last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hansen where the group was entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Fran-cis Coulson. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bigler, Mr. ai.d Mrs. Delbert Christiansen, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bills, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Madson, Amy Samuels and Mrs. Francis J. Hansen. Refreshments were served. Miss Enid Seeley entertained at : a Halloween party recently. The guests came in costume and games i were played and refreshments were served. Those present were Izola Jacobson, Betty Allred, Hannah Ivory, Jean Oldroyd, Cherrel Johnson, John-son, Stella Mayer and Norene Christensen. |
