Show Pioneer Settler of State Dies at Advanced Age Word has been received at Mt. Pleasant of the death of Christian Jensen, 84, a pioneer settler of Moroni, in Manassa, Colorado last Monday, October 31. Mr. Jensen, who came to Moroni Mo-roni with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jensen, in 1861, was born in Denmark October 28, 1848. His father was a pioneer weaver. Mr. Jensen learned milling and later founded the Moroni Flour Milling company, which he managed man-aged for many years. ' He also freighted merchandise ' between Salt Lake and St. George before the advent of railroads. He assisted in the building of both : the St. George and Manti L. D. S. temples and wos worker in tht Salt Lake L. D. S. temple ior many years. During his residence in Moroni he was president of the Moroni bank and president of the Moroni Co-op. The family moved to Manassa, Colorado in 1901, and here he also became prominent in church and community work. He was bishop of the Manassa L. D. S. ward for many years and later was ordained stake patriarch. He was president of the Colonial State bank in Manassa at the time of his death. Mr. Jensen had been married four times. He is survived by his I widow, Mrs. Eliza Jensen, and ' fourteen sons and daughters, every ev-ery one of whom attended his funeral. fun-eral.
