Under the very capable instruction instruc-tion of Miss Fontella Langlois, the first grade children have made a remarkable study of artists and their masterpieces. They were fortunate in securing se-curing a number of paintings of our local artist, Mr. John Stans-field. Stans-field. He visited the room, explaining explain-ing his paintings and commenting on the children's own drawings. He complimented many of these six year old tots on the artistic ability abil-ity displayed in their own efforts at painting. The parents had been asked to attend school Thursday afternoon and were entertained by the children chil-dren in song, dance and story, some of them telling about the "painting I like best" and explaining explain-ing their o'-ti drawings. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served. The parents contributed dimes towards creating a fund to be used by the first graders and their teacher in renovating their class room. It is to be hoped that the parents par-ents will appreciate the efforts of Miss Langlois in developing a taste for art in their boys and girls and will cooperate with her in her endeavors to brighten their room, adding color and cheerfulness cheerful-ness that is otherwise hard to achieve.
