Show North Sanpete High School Annual Day Celebration The Annual Day celebration by the local High School last Friday afternoon after-noon was held at the school building, acccrding to announcement, and was in every way a success. A good crowd of friends and patrons of the school was present to enjoy the afternoon program and hear the address made by Prof. Hall, state inspector of high schools. The remarks of Mr. Hall were along educational lines and referred particularly to the local school and conditions. He stated that he is very much pleased with the local school this year, with the faculty and with the work being done. A remarkable re-markable improvement, .over last year is noticeable, and every department depart-ment shows the marked change for the better. In a general way Mr. Hall rated the school as the equal of any high school in Utah, outside of the one or two of the largest cities. cit-ies. Principal P. M. Nielsen gave a short address also, in which he pointed out among other things that the school stands and works for strength of character and a high standard of mo- als among its students just as it does for their general education. Trustee A. U. Miner of Fairwew who was present made a short but pertinent and interesting address. Several selections rendered in a splendid way by the High School Orchestra and Choir and a well delivered de-livered reading by Miss Cleo Lund of ; the English department completed i the program. ' Following that portion of the day's ', exercises was an elaborate banquet which was much enjoyed by those ? present. It was prepared by the Do-i Do-i mestic Science department upon I which credit was reflected by the spread. After dinner speeches were made by Mayor Jas. W. Anderson, ? Pres.C. N. Lund, F. C. Jensen, Prof. Hall and P. M. Nielsen, toastmaster. The remarks were of a congratula-3 congratula-3 tory nature and conveyed the best wishes of the spsakers to the school, |
