Show BmWiull By BERTHA L. MUIR 295-3742 Mrs. Sylvia Harrison is reported to be recovering from a recent illness. Sylvia's family members have been good to help care for her. Mrs. Irene Earl is hospitalized hospi-talized in the South Davis Community hospital. A number of her family members from out of state have been here to visit with their mother. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hansen have returned to Bountiful after spending the winter in a warmer climate. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Tid-well Tid-well of Heber City'were Bountiful visitors Monday. They came to attend the Narfe meeting. Mother's day guests at the Bertha Muir home were Mr. and Mrs. Max Muir and granddaughters, Kristin, Allyson and Amy of Brigham City; Mrs. Wallace E. Hess and daughter Julie, Mrs. Dan Hess and son Jonathan, of Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Suzanne Hess and children, Rebecca, Margaret, Josh and Ben of Provo; "Mrs. Catherine Bednark, Mrs. Emily Eldredge, Mrs. Jean Ked-dington Ked-dington and daughter Susan, and sister LaRae, all of Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Holbrook were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Holbrook and their eight children at their home in Kaysville, Monday evening. The affair was a family home evening honoring honor-ing Greg Holbrook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Holbrook, who will soon go on an LDS Mission to the Philippines. Also honored was Steven Holbrook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Holbrook, who has recently returned from the Philippine mission. Steven showed pictures taken while he was on his mission and refreshments were served. The only member of the Ben Holbrook family not present was their son Dan who is a missionary in England. It was a happy evening for the Ward Holbrooks. Mrs. Roselynn Dechart attended at-tended a reception for Mrs. Reva Beck Bosone, held last .Wednesday at the Pioneer Craft House. Over one hundred people called at the cozy, quaint pioneer home of Mrs. Ardella Mills last Saturday. It was one of the houses chosen for the Heritage Home Tour held throughout Davis County Saturday. Sat-urday. This tour was planned by the Heritage Foundation. Mrs. Annie C. Carr and members of her family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tingey, Mr. and Mrs. Gallard Carr, Mr. and Mrs. Lamoni Carr, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Carr, Mr. and Mrs. Venice Carr, and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Carr attended at-tended a family party Friday evening at John's Villa. They were guests of cousins of the late Willard Carr, Mr. and Mrs. John Carr. There were 26 family members present. Plans were made to form a genealogy society for the Gallards of Australia. They all enjoyed a supper and toured the hosts home at Three Fountains. The group plan to meet often to become better acquainted and to work on family history. Cecil Carr of Salt Lake City was chairman chair-man for the Monday night party. Mrs. Robert Carlson of Salt Lake City was a visitor at the home of Mrs. Preston Hughes Tuesday. Alice spent most of her early life in Bountiful and often comes out to visit old friends. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Pitt of Centerville received word that their son Alan, has been made a member of High Priest Council of the East Tacoma Stake, Tacoma, Washington. Alan has a wife and four children. One is a new baby bom April 6. Alan is a salesman for an automotive engineering company. He graduated from the BYU as an automotive engineer a number of years ago. His mother Florence, has been a teacher at Stoker School for the past nine years. Mrs. Florence Mercer has returned from Los Angeles where she has been a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mercer. While there she attended at-tended a performance of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet of Philadelphia in which her grandson Jimmie, was a star performer. The ballet group is on a tour of the west. Jimmie Jim-mie is a son of the Richard Mercers. Florence also visited visit-ed with her sister and brother-in-law, J. W. Evans in Yucykia. Mrs. Evans is 91 years of age and Mr. Evans is 92. Both are in good health. On May 25, the Bountiful Utah South Stake will be host for the home evening to be held at 8 p.m. at the Regional Center. The speakers will be Filia and Unise Uipi from Tonga. Both have attended the College of Hawaii. Mrs. Dorothy Willey will be chairman of the Gold Star Mothers luncheon to be held Saturday at the American Legion Post home at 1 p.m. Gold Star mothers, auxiliary members and friends have been invited. Transportation will be provided for those in need of a ride. Junior Girls and Girl Staters will join with auxiliary aux-iliary members to sell poppies pop-pies on May 17, the date set for poppy day throughout the state of Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Aoyama and Mr. and Mrs. Hy Meredith hosted a dinner party on Sunday, May 4. Attending At-tending were Mr. and Mrs. Yo Miyaki, Mr. and Mrs. George Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Ishihara, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Miyeda of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Aoyagi of Magna and Mr. and Mrs. Ichero Doi, Bountiful. Mother's Day guests at the Hy Meredith home were Mr. and Mrs. Matt Echerle, Mike and Julie Meredith, Shalyce and Adam; Shereand Steve Rockwell and Kevin and Kathy Meredith. |
